What better way to start the weekend than by watching and wagering on what looks to be a very good Bellator event. Bellator 283 is set to go on Friday night, with the main card action set to begin at 7 PM EST. You can catch the preliminary fights on YouTube before switching over to Showtime to catch the 5 fights that make up the main card. There are no title fights at this event, but still some very good matchups that are certainly worth tuning into. Of course, as well as soaking up all the action, we’d all like to end the night with a few more bucks in the bankroll, so let’s take a closer look at all 5 fights on the main card, with Bellator Betting predictions for each.
Bellator 283 Betting Preview | MMA Analysis
Davion Franklin Vs Marcelo Golm
We get the main card rolling with what has the potential to be a bruising Heavyweight bout. Franklin comes into this one looking to maintain his perfect record, which currently sits at 5-0, with 3 of those wins coming inside the distance. Golm has recovered nicely from a 3-fight losing skid and comes into this bout on a run of 3 straight wins. This should be a fun battle, but I am on Franklin for the KO win.
Lorenz Larkin Vs Mukhamed Berkhamov
We have a ton of experience on display with the next bout, which is a very evenly matched Welterweight bout. Larkin comes in with a 24-7 record and a great run of form that has seen him win each of his last 6 fights, all under the Bellator banner. You have to go all the way back to 2013 to find the last time Berkhamov lost a fight. Since then, he has reeled off 12 straight wins. I am going with Berkhamov by decision.
Usman Nurmagomedov Vs Chris Gonzalez
We have the Lightweights stepping into the octagon next, with one of these fighters looking to keep a perfect record intact. That would be Nurmagomedov, who is sitting at 14-0 ahead of this one. That includes being 3-0 with Bellator. Gonzalez is 7-1 overall, with all but 1 of his wins coming under the Bellator banner. As good as he has been, this looks like a step up in class, so I am on Nurmagomedov to win inside the distance.
Sidney Outlaw Vs Tofiq Musayev
The co-main event of the night is another good one, with both of these Lightweights in very good form. Outlaw has a record of 16-4, but he has been close to unbeatable of late, winning 11 of his last 12 fights, while going 3-1 with Bellator. This will be the first fight in Bellator for Musayev, who saw a 15-fight win streak come to an end with a loss last time out. This is a coin flip for me, but I am taking Musayev by decision.
Douglas Lima Vs Jason Jackson
The headline bout of the night is a Welterweight fight that features a pair of fighters heading in opposite directions. Lima has put together an impressive 32-10 record in his pro career, but he is currently on a run that has seen him lose 3 in a row. Jackson is 15-4, and while he lost his first fight with Bellator, he followed that up with 5 straight wins. This looks to be a great matchup and I have Jackson taking it by decision.
I have read enough, I need to place my bet now. What to do?
