Best Rugby Odds for this Week: English Premiership, and Top 14 Must Bet Games

Written by on October 26, 2022

It’s another full slate of Rugby Betting for October 28th to 30th, headlined by the top four teams in the English Premiership, all playing each other. That #1 vs. #2 and #3 vs. #4 meeting will really have some dust settling at the top of the ladder after the weekend.

In the French Top 14, the #1 team on the ladder, Toulouse, is actually an underdog on the road this week against Bayonne, which will be a heavily bet matchup.

Weekly Rundown of the Top Rugby Games to Must Bet On | October 26th Edition

English Premiership – Gloucester Rugby (-0.5) vs. Exeter RC Chiefs

Teams #3 and #4 on the English Premiership ladder meetup on Friday when 4-1 Gloucester hosts 4-2 Exeter. With the top two teams, Saracens and Sale squaring off, whoever wins the Gloucester vs. Exeter matchup can possibly climb into second place.

Oddsmakers are calling this a close one with just a 0.5-point spread; Gloucester has won three in a row but by a combined margin of eight points.

The Chiefs’ two losses this season have come against Saracens (22-20) last weekend and Sale (28-20), the top two teams in the English Premiership so far this season.

English Premiership – Saracens FC (-9.5) vs. Sale Rugby Union FC Sharks

The top two teams in the point standings meetup on Sunday, and the fact that Saracens (6-0) is a -9.5 favorite over 5-1 Sale shows just how impressed oddsmakers are by the home team’s start.

The Sharks were definitely looking ahead to this meeting, tripping up against Harlequins 29-13 last week for their first loss of the season.

Saracens took care of a top-four team last week in a 22-20 win over Exeter, and the only time this club has looked human this fall is in their Rugby Cup matches, where they’ve lost all three.

Saracens picked up the 18-12 and 25-14 sweep over Sale last year, but are 9.5 points too many?

Top 14 – Castres Olympique (-5.5) vs. Asm Clermont Auvergne

A couple of clubs fighting for an early spot in the top six square off on Saturday when Castres (4-4) hosts Clermont Auvergne (4-1-3). These two squads were in a defensive struggle when they last met in April, with Olympique getting a 12-0 win.

That’s not the typical Castres vs. Clermont Auvergne meeting, though, as the previous four matches have all had at least 54 points scored.

The best route to go here could be the over 47.5, especially with neither club being incredibly consistent in the win/loss column.

Top 14 – Aviron Bayonne (-3.5) vs. Stade Toulousain

Sure they are on the road this week, but 7-1 Toulouse has been dominant so far this season and doesn’t feel like a +3.5 underdog against 4-4 Bayonne.

This has the obvious makings of a trap match. The teams did split last year, with Toulouse squeaking out a 24-20 win and Bayonne getting a 32-28 victory in May.

How can you really trust a Bayonne team to beat the top-ranked team in the league when they barely got by last place Perpignan 24-20 last week?

Toulouse has rattled off five in a row since their upset defeat to Pau, so even though it looks like a trap, they have to be the play here.

I have read enough, I need to place my bet now. What to do?
