When a team fails to live up to expectations, there are a couple of things that generally happen. MyBookie Sportsbook NFL Odds, American Football NFL Lines | Los Angeles Chargers at Denver Broncos
The most obvious is that the head coach, or one of his coordinators, gets fired, but you sometimes also get a situation where players are benched prior to eventually ending up on the trade or cut block. Both the Chargers and Broncos have seriously underwhelmed this season, with the Chargers firing their head coach, while the Broncos have announced that QB Russell Wilson will be riding the bench this weekend. The moves were drastic, albeit not totally unexpected, with both teams looking to end a disappointing season on a positive note. They will meet up this weekend in Denver, with the Broncos favored by 5 ½ in their own building. The point total for this one is currently set at 39.

Los Angeles Chargers
With a fat new contract in hand, the expectation was that Justin Herbert would help lead the Chargers into the playoffs and a deep run that would hopefully end in a Super Bowl. Herbert is down in the middle of the pack in the QB stats, but it is certainly not all his fault that the Chargers have underachieved so badly. There is a lot of blame to go around, but it was Brandon Staley who took the hit, getting fired a few weeks back. With a new coach set to come in, a lot of these guys are playing for a roster spot now. The Chargers are a miserable 5-10 on the season and given that they have won just 6 times in their last 20 meetings with the Broncos, there is no real reason to feel too optimistic this weekend. Furthermore, they are 1-9 SU in their last 10 trips to Denver. They are 3-6 ATS in their last 9 versus the Broncos, with the UNDER hitting in 10 of their last 13 games overall.

Denver Broncos
We are seeing something of a similar story in Denver, with things certainly not going to plan. The relationship between Russell Wilson and first year head coach Sean Payton seemed fractured from the off, and with the benching of Wilson this weekend, it looks as though the divide is now totally complete. The expectation is that Wilson will be looking for a new home once this season is over. There was a point this season where it looked as though the Broncos had turned a corner, winning 5 in a row to get to 6-5, but they have won just once in the 4 games since that streak ended. They have, though, still been tough to beat at home, winning 4 of their last 5 at Mile High. Playing as the favorite has been an issue for Denver in terms of the spread, as they are 3-14-1 ATS in their last 18 when playing with that label. The UNDER has hit in 7 of their last 10 overall.

Chargers vs Broncos NFL Odds, Expert Pick and Score Prediction
There really is nothing left to play for but pride for both of these teams, so maybe we can expect this one to be a little more open. That said, I like the Broncos to win and cover.
