Cincinnati vs. Cleveland Odds and Betting Prediction for NFL Week 1

It’s the Cincinnati Bengals and the Cleveland Browns as part of Week 1 in the National Football League on Sunday. The two teams want to make a run at the 2023 postseason out of the AFC North.

The Bengals are coming off a frustrating preseason that saw them not win a game in three tries. Cincinnati is coming off their divisional title of a season ago and losing in the AFC title game to the eventual Super Bowl Champion Kansas City Chiefs.

For Cleveland, they are looking to improve upon their 7-10 mark a season ago. The Browns went 1-2-1 in the preseason. The Cincinnati Bengals are favorites in this game at -2.5 in the NFL Odds Week 1.

Rocky Training Camp for Bengals

Joe Burrow left early in preseason and was out for a month. That hurts the Bengals, as he did not get reps in training camp. That also hurts his top target, Ja’Marr Chase.

Chase finished last season with more than 1,000 receiving yards. Along with Chase are Tee Higgins and Tyler Boyd, making them one of the best trios of receivers in the league.

The Bengals also return their leading running back from a season ago. Joe Mixon rushed for 814 yards a season ago. His backup, Samaje Perine, is now in Denver, so Trayveon Williams will be next in line. Williams rushed just six times all of 2023.

Chase Brown is also an option at the running back spot. He is a rookie out of Illinois. Cincinnati will look for their three top draft picks, Myles Murphy, DJ Turner, and Jordan Battle, to help the depth of the unit.

The Cincinnati Bengals start right out of the game with a road divisional game. The path gets more challenging in Week 2, as they host Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens.

Following that, the Bengals and Rams will play in Monday Night Football for Week 3. Week 4 for Cincinnati is on the road at the Tennessee Titans.

Browns Excited for Challenge

The Cleveland Browns, led by head coach Kevin Stefanski, are undoubtedly ready for the opening day challenge against a divisional rival. The Browns return Nick Chubb.

Chubb challenged Josh Jacobs for the top running back statistics a season ago. Chubb finished with over 1,500 yards on the season and got into the end zone 12 times. Kareem Hunt is gone, so he will no longer have to share those carries with him.

A season ago, between Jacoby Brissett and DeShaun Watson, the Browns threw 19 touchdowns and 11 interceptions. Watson will get the start from the beginning, and Cleveland certainly hopes those numbers improve. Amari Cooper also returns. A season ago, Cooper caught nine touchdown passes.

Cleveland starts with this home game against the Bengals. Following that, the Browns will go on the road and play in Monday Night Football for Week 2. That game is at Pittsburgh. After that, the Browns have three straight home games against the Titans, Ravens, and 49ers, with a bye in Week 5.

Bengals/Browns in a Betting Thriller | Biggest Rivalries in NFL

The Cincinnati Bengals and Cleveland Browns are one of the biggest rivalries in all of the National Football League—no love lost between these two Ohio teams.

The Bengals have the talent difference, but the gap is closing, and Cleveland continues improving. The Browns defense will be ready to get after Joe Burrow and the Cincinnati offense. Cleveland will also want to push the football on the ground and play defense.

The bet for this game is the Cleveland Browns winning at home. The Browns take advantage of a hobbled and rusty Joe Burrow and win this game at home.
