Best Dota 2 DPC CN Division I Predictions & Betting Analysis for January 5th
EHOME vs Invictus Gaming
It was believed that EHOME wouldn’t compete in DPC this year, but the Chinese organization put together a last-minute roster, which doesn’t look too bad. Admittedly, EHOME’s roster is clearly put together quickly, and it doesn’t look like it can work on the surface, but there’s a lot of potential here.
Combining players from tier 1, 2, and 3, EHOME are the type of team that will either impress or fall apart and might be the most interesting team to follow in 2023 DPC. A huge shakeup for a struggling organization which just might pay off – or at the very least, it’s tough for EHOME to do much worse in 2023 as they did in 2022.
Invictus Gaming enter Div I from the lower division – granted IG arguably shouldn’t have been in the second division. IG now field four new players in Dust, Irving, poloson, and qyqx, who’ll team up with Emo as the only carryover from 2022.
It’s unfortunate that IG lost a large portion of the roster, which helped the team reach the top division, but it’s not like IG’s current lineup lacks talent. They might look weaker on paper, but Invictus Gaming should be in the race for a top-three finish if things fall into place.
This can turn into a highly competitive match, but we’re leaning towards Invictus Gaming. Unlike EHOME, IG took their time to form a stable lineup, and while EHOME can do well, we wouldn’t count on them too much until a few weeks into the season.
Prediction: Invictus Gaming -1.5 maps
PSG.LGD vs Dawn Gaming
The Chinese Dota Pro Circuit scene has seen many changes ahead of the 2023 season, which should shake up the balance of power in the region and bring us, the fans, a very interesting opening tour of 2023.
Not only have many teams made roster changes, but the top Chinese DPC division will also welcome two new teams in, Knights (formerly RNG) and Dawn Gaming, who’ll look to make a name for themselves, granted with familiar faces.
PSG.LGD had an incredible run in 2022, and the prominent Chinese esports organization is bound to make a splash in 2023 as well. The team has made some roster changes, signing three new players in shiro, xiang yu, and planet, who effectively replaced the majority of the roster.
But despite PSG.LGD is entering 2023 with an entirely different lineup; it’s hard to doubt this team and its ability to put together a very competitive lineup. PSG.LGD have been on the top of the Chinese Dota 2 scene for so long that it’s impossible to start doubting them now, even though we have no idea of how the new-look lineup will perform.
Dawn Gaming qualified for the top division in 2023, taking away the slot from CDED. And as you would expect from a lower-division team, Dawn don’t field any notable players. Comprised mostly of tier 2 and tier 3 players, Dawn have a lot to prove as the team looks to compete with some of China’s top teams.
On paper, this looks like an easy win for PSG.LGD, but this is the opening match of the new season, which usually sees stronger team underperform. So while PSG.LGD should win; we will trust Dawn to take one map.
Prediction: Dawn Gaming +1.5 maps
