EDward Gaming vs JD Gaming | LPL Regular season
When: June 10, 2023 at 09:00 UTC
Top Lane
369 was fantastic for JDG at MSI, but before his international dominance, the Chinese top laner was dominating on Sion and K’Sante in domestic play. He has since added Ornn to his pool for the summer season, with a victory picked up against ONG. He still prefers K’Sante and Sion, but there’s reason to be confident.
EDG’s Ale has yet to find a consistent groove, with Jax, Gnar, and K’Sante all featuring in two games thus far. One champion to watch out for is his Gwen, which got a win in a dominant performance against TES before going ignored the rest of the series
Jungle
Kanavi has not been as dominant as we saw at MSI, but that’s a difficult standard to hold anyone to. He has still been good for a 3.2 KDA on the season so far, with two games on his signature Wukong and five other champions featuring at least once. If his struggles subside, JD Gaming should be back to their regular dominance.
For now, EDG’s JieJie is the hotter jungler going into this matchup. His 73.5% kill participation and two games of Wukong have been a big part of EDG’s 80% first tower rate thus far, as his ganks set the tempo for the rest of the team.
Mid Lane
Knight has started his post-MSI champion season off strongly, with three games of Annie and two on mid-Jayce contributing to a 60.5% kill participation rate. He is still one of the world’s best mid laners, and teams may wish to watch out for his Neeko, given the champion’s rise to prominence in recent weeks.
EDG’s FoFo has started the season strong, thanks to his chemistry with JieJie in the early game. He’s been good for a 75% kill participation score, with three games on Neeko showing a keen eye for the meta.
Bot Lane
Ruler is still one of the best players in the world, with three games on Xayah so far this split and a 4.1 KDA to show for it. Missing has played four games on Rakan, with the classic champion combo working out well for JDG. We’d say they need to diversify, but a roster this talented should have no trouble doing so.
Leave and Meiko of EDG has done a decent job of playing the bot lane so far, but Leave is struggling in the KDA department. With just a 2.4 KDA and a kill participation score of 61%, the duo has a long way to go to match up against this powerhouse JDG squad.
