Anyone’s Legends vs LNG Esports

  • When: Thursday, February 17 – 17:00 CST

Anyone’s Legends are 3-5 after three weeks of action, which isn’t great, but they’ve gained some serious momentum. Last week, they defeated UltraPrime and Rare Atom (both 2-1) and bounced back following a humiliating performance against ThunderTalk Gaming (1-2) a week prior.

But while Anyone’s Legends have looked better of late, this is still one of the weakest teams in the league. Admittedly, they can be competitive against other mid-table and bottom-table squads, but Anyone’s Legends should have no business beating the top teams, such as LNG Esports.

LNG Esports head into Week 4 of LPL 2022 Spring as the league’s only undefeated team. They hold a perfect 6-0 series record and an equally impressive 12-3 map record (80% win rate).

So far, LNG have already won against Ultra Prime (2-0), Rare Atom (2-1), Invictus Gaming (2-0), Team WE (2-0), FunPlus Phoenix (2-1), and Bilibili Gaming, who they defeated on Sunday with 2-1.

Based on those results, it’s clear that LNG does extremely well against bottom teams but tend to struggle against stronger opponents. That, however, shouldn’t be an issue on Thursday, considering they’re facing a squad that should end the season inside the bottom-five.

There’s a good reason why Anyone’s Legends are +600 underdogs for this match, and there is little that would suggest they can actually upset LNG. The latter team are clearly one of the top squads in the LPL this season, and it will take more than a middle-of-the-pack team to stop LNG on their win streak.

Prediction: LNG -1.5 maps

Invictus Gaming vs Bilibili Gaming

  • When: Thursday, February 17 – 19:00 CST

Invictus Gaming are 2-5 on the season, which isn’t great, but they have had some solid showings recently. Over the seven outings, won against ThunderTalk Gaming and Rare Atom, but lost against Oh My God, LNG Esports, Royal Never Give Up, and Victory Five.

Invictus Gaming essentially played well against mid-table teams and only lost against LPL’s top dogs, which isn’t terrible. Furthermore, IG stole a map from Victory Five last weekend, which is definitely a good sign.

Bilibili Gaming suffered their first defeat of the season on Sunday when they had to admit defeat to LNG Esports. Still, they won their remaining five bouts against Weibo Gaming, Oh My God, Rare Atom, Royal never Give Up, and ThunderTalk Gaming.

Evidently, Bilibili Gaming are one of the top-four teams in the LPL, so it makes sense that they’re heavy favorites for this match. However, at the offered LoL betting odds, Invictus Gaming are a bit underestimated.

While we don’t believe IG can defeat Bilibili Gaming under normal circumstances, they have shown enough for us to imagine a world where IG steal one map. They play solid, and while IG might lack the talent to compete with the top teams, they can take advantage of opponents’ mistakes.

Invictus Gaming with a map advantage at +100 or close to that price is a solid bet and is far more appealing than backing Bilibili Gaming to win the series without dropping a map.

Prediction: Invictus Gaming +1.5 maps
