Cycling Betting Odds for the 2025 Racing Calendar

The 2025 Cycling season is about to kickstart big time and that also includes the cycling betting odds strating to heat up.

Starting on March 22 with Milan-San Remo, races happen every month.

The first Grand Tour event is the Giro d’Italia in May.

After a hiatus in June, the best in the world, including Tadej Pogacar, head to France for the annual Tour de France.

The final Grand Tour race happens in late August and September, the La Vuelta a Espana.

Check out a full list of the races that MyBookie offers cycling odds as well as all three Grand Tour events.

Also see cycling betting analysis and picks for the three races, the Milan-San Remo, Paris Roubaix, and Tour de France, which are up on the MyBookie sportsbook.

MyBookie’s Rundown on the Top Cycling Races in 2025 Calendar

For this rundown, we need to what are the top events to bet on the 2025 Cycling Calendar. Keep on reading to find out what those races are, I can imagine that you might already know some of them or of all them.

So enjoy this rundown and start thinking of locking in those futures.

Milan-San Remo | La Classicissima

March 22nd, 2025 / Milan, Italy
Distance: 288 km

Milan-San Remo, often called the La Primavera or The Spring, is one of cycling’s five Monuments.

The Monuments are the five most historic and important one day cycling events in the world.

This is the cycling race that often jumpstarts the cycling season and this year is not the exception.

The Milan is also the longest one day Monument of the year at 288 km.

We’ll get more into who might win the Milan-San Remo later in this blog.

Check out the Milan-San Remo’s most famous climbs.

  • Passo del Turchino
A long but not steep climb.
  • Cipressa (near the end)
    Often used for attacks.
  • Poggio di San Remo
The final climb, about 6 km from the finish, where decisive moves often happen.

Paris Roubaix

April 13th, 2025 / Compiegne, France
Distance: 258 km

The Paris Roubaix has a sinister nickname, L’Enfur Du Nord, which means The Hell of the North.

Mathieu Van der Pol has said he intends to cycle in both the Paris Roubaix and the Milan-San Remo.

Tadej Pogacar has committed to the Milan-San Remo.

I‘ll get into why that’s significant later.

The Paris Roubaix is also a Monument race.

It’s shorter than the Milan-San Remo by about 20 kilometers.

The route starts near Paris and finishes in Roubaix near Belgium.

Paris Roubaix race is famous for cobblestones that cyclists must ride over.

Those that handle the cobblestones often do well in the event.

Check out the more famous sectors of the Paris Roubaix.

  • Trouée d’Arenberg
One of the most feared sectors, with deep, irregular cobbles.
  • Mons-en-Pévèle
A long, decisive stretch of cobbles.
  • Carrefour de l’Arbre
The final major challenge before the finish.

Giro d’Italia | Tour of Italy

May 3rd – May 25th, 2025 / Trieste, Italy
Distance: 21 stages – 3,400 – 3,600 km

Odds have yet to land for the Giro d’Italia.

The reason could be because since the Giro, a Grand Tour classification cycling event, happens so close to the Tour de France, cyclists like Tadej Pogacar, and Jonas Vingegaard may decide to skip the race.

If they both skip the race, Primoz Roglic is the likeliest favorite.

Pogacar and Vingegaard have a rival going in the Tour de France.

So it makes sense that they would go ahead and skip the first Grand Tour event of the year.

The Giro d’Italia if the first of three Grand Tour races.

The other two are the Tour de France and the Vuelta a Espana, or La Vuelta.

While the Tour de France awards a yellow jersey to the top cyclist, the Giro awards a pink jersey.

Italian Iconic Climbs in History

See below for iconic climbs at the Giro d’Italia:

  • Passo dello Stelvio – One of the highest and toughest climbs in cycling.
  • Monte Zoncolan – Brutally steep, reaching 22% gradients.
  • Passo Gavia – High-altitude and often snow-covered.

Winning a single stage in a Grand Tour is a big deal.

Not everyone can take home the pink jersey.

So when odds land, handicap the top choices.

Tour de France | Tour of France

July 5th – July 27th, 2025 / Lille, France
Distance: 21 stages – 3,300 – 3,500 km

World’s most famous and prestigious cycling events has also been the place where rivalries are born.

The top rivalry in the world right now pits Tadej Pogacar against Jonas Vingegaard.

Primoz Roglic is a third member of the rivalry but Primoz doesn’t emphasize the Tour as much as Pogacar and Vingegaard.

Winner receives the famous yellow jersey.

The route at the Tour de France changes year to year but always includes the following.

  • Flat stages (for sprinters)
  • Hilly and mountain stages (for climbers & general classification riders)
  • Time trials (individual or team)
  • The final stage always finishes in Paris on the Champs-Élysées

French Iconic Climbs in History

See below for iconic climbs at the Tour de France:

  • Alpe d’Huez
Famous for its 21 switchbacks and crazy fan atmosphere.
  • Mont Ventoux
A brutal, barren climb with legendary status.
  • Col du Tourmalet
One of the most frequently used high-altitude climbs.

La Vuelta Espana | Tour of Spain

August 23rd – September 14th, 2025 / Lisbon, Portugal
Distance: 21 stages – 3,000 – 3,500

Final Grand Tour event doesn’t have the prestige that the Tour de France provides.

But it is as well respected among cycling fans and cyclists as the Tour.

All three Grand Tour events are on the same level as far as cycling fans are concerned.

If it is La Vuelta Espana or Vuelta a Espana means the Tour of Spain.

The race happens in both Portugal and Spain and always finishes near Madrid.

The Vuelta is famous for the following.

  • Brutal mountain stages (often featuring extreme gradients).
  • High-altitude climbs in the Pyrenees and Asturias.
  • Time trials (individual or team).
  • Final stage often finishes in Madrid.

Spanish Iconic Climbs in History

Check out a list of iconic climbs at the Vuelta:

  • Angliru – Insanely steep, with ramps exceeding 24% gradient.
  • Lagos de Covadonga – One of the most legendary summit finishes.
  • Alto de Gamoniteiru – A newer climb, but just as punishing.

How to Bet on Cycling Events and How to Find Value Bets in Cycling

The best way to bet on cycling events is to look at odds and try to find value.

This takes some handicapping time and it involves determining the intent of the cyclist.

For example, Tadej Pogacar is the favorite to win the Milan-San Remo.

But Pogacar may be using the Milan-San Remo to get his cycling feet wet for the season.

Tadej wants to peak in July as the Tour de France kicks off.

He may not be at his best in the Milan.

Mathieu Van der Pol is cycling in both the Milan-San Remo and the Paris Roubaix.

Which one is Van de Pol looking to win? Think about these things before placing your bets.

How Do Cycling Futures Work and How to Bet Them

It’s easy to get cycling futures.

All you must do is log onto the MyBookie sportsbook and look under Cycling.

In the multiple stage races, the Grand Tour events, you may have a chance to bet on the winner of each jersey color as well as each stage.

Unless you really get into betting on cycling, stay away from wagering on each stage.

A cyclist like Tadej Pogacar doesn’t have to win every stage to win the yellow jersey at the Tour de France.

He just must finish with the best overall time.

Round of Picks: Cycling Future Odds and Picks

Milan-San Remo

  • Tadej Pogacar +222
  • Mathieu Van der Poel +340
  • Jasper Philipsen +530
  • Matej Mohoric +1350
  • Filippo Ganna +1375
  • Jonathan Milan +1400
  • Mads Pederson +2700
  • Thomas Pidcock +2700

Pogacar is the chalk but he may not be at his best in this.

In fact, the chances are that Pogacar uses this race to begin his preparation for the Tour de France.

Tadej is a bet against at the odds.

Van der Poel is a good choice but Mathieu also cycles in the Paris Roubaix, which is why Jasper Philipsen is the top play.

Philipsen doesn’t have much chance of winning any of the Grand Tour events.

So the Monuments are his Super Bowls.

Milan-San Remo Pick: Jasper Philipsen
Bet on Milan-San Remo – MyBookie Sportsbook

Paris-Roubaix

  • Mathieu Van der Poel +270
  • Wout Van Aert +275
  • Jasper Phillipsen +500
  • Mads Pederson +1200
  • Christophe Laporte +1400
  • Filippo Ganna +2500
  • Jonathan Milan +2700
  • John Degenkolb +2800
  • Arnaud de Lie +2800

Wout Van Aert versus Mathieu Van der Poel should be an excellent race.

If you back Phillipsen to win the Milan-San Remo, then go with Van Aert or Van der Poel to win the Paris Roubaix.

Van Aert has begun to pick it up big time.

He has the cycling prowess to win the Paris Roubaix because of his excellent ability on climbs.

He’s my choice to upset the favored Van der Poel.

Paris-Roubaix Pick: Wout Van Aert
Bet on Paris-Roubaix – MyBookie Sportsbook

Tour de France

  • Tadej Pogacar -242
  • Jonas Vingegaard +202
  • Remco Evenepoel +710
  • Jao Almeida +1925
  • Primoz Roglic +2200
  • Juan Ayuso +3500

Pogacar versus Vingegaard should be another fantastic race.

Last year, Vingegaard suffered an injury before the Tour de France that led many to believe he might skip.

Jonas raced and he did surprisingly well.

A healthy Vingegaard turns the tables on Pogacar.

The other potential play is Remco Evenepoel.

Remco was fantastic at last year’s Tour.

He ended up losing out but he raced well.

Backing both Vingegaard and Evenepoel, with most of your money going towards Vingegaard, is a good way to manage this year’s Tour de France future bet.

How to Bet on Cycling Races? Let’s Find Out

How to Bet on Cycling Races?

Betting on cycling races can be thrilling and rewarding when you know how to approach it.

Here’s a step-by-step guide to help you get started:

Understand the Race Format:

Before you place any bets, familiarize yourself with the race you’re betting on. Major cycling events like the Tour de France, Giro d’Italia, Paris-Roubaix, and Milan-San Remo each have unique formats. For example, the Tour de France is a multi-stage race, while Paris-Roubaix is a one-day classic. Understanding the race’s structure is key to making smart betting choices.

Know the Types of Cycling Bets:

There are several different ways you can bet on cycling races:

  • Outright Winner:
Bet on who will win the overall race or a specific stage.
  • Stage Winner:
Bet on the winner of a particular stage within a multi-stage race.
  • Head-to-Head Bets:
Bet on which cyclist will outperform another during a stage or throughout the race.
  • Top 3 or Top 10 Finish:
Bet on a cyclist to finish in a certain position overall or in specific stages.
  • Betting on Teams:
Some betting markets also allow you to place bets on teams, such as which team will win the race overall or which rider from a team will perform the best.

Check Out the Cycling Betting Odds:

Each event will have its own odds based on the riders’ previous performances, their current form, and other factors like the terrain of the race.

The odds will vary throughout the event, so it’s important to keep an eye on them to see if there’s value for a specific bet.

Research the Riders:

Do your research on the riders’ form, strengths, and weaknesses. Some cyclists excel in mountainous stages, while others perform better on flat terrains or time trials.

Riders who are in good shape and have done well in similar events in the past are often safer bets.

Look for Value Bets:

Look for underdog cyclists or lesser-known riders who may have higher odds but are performing well in recent races or have favorable conditions for the upcoming event.

These bets can provide excellent returns if your pick surprises everyone.

Consider Race Conditions:

Weather conditions, terrain, and race length can all affect a cyclist’s performance.

For example, a rider who excels in time trials might not perform as well in a long mountain stage, so it’s important to take these factors into account before placing your bets.

Use MyBookie for Betting Lines:

MyBookie offers a wide variety of cycling betting options, including futures, live bets, and prop bets.

Whether you want to bet on stage winners or the overall champion, MyBookie’s cycling betting lines give you the flexibility to place wagers on all the key moments in cycling.

Final Thoughts on Betting Cycling Events

Cycling betting can be a fun and profitable way to enjoy the races, but like any sport, it’s important to do your homework.

2024 Cycling Events: Betting Analysis for Each & Future Bets

Previous Betting News

The pro road cycling season is already under way. However, the top events don’t happen until March 6. Before reading further, accept the fact that the Tour de France isn’t the only Grand Tour event on the schedule. In fact, the Vuelta a Espana happens after the Tour.

Check out a breakdown of The Monuments, a few words on the Olympic Games, and then a dive into the Grand Tours for your Cycling Future bets this year.

Cycling Calendar | March 16th – September 29th, 2024

The Monuments | Toughest Races on the Pro Road Circuit

Milan – San Remo March 16

Tour of Flanders – March 31 Cycling Futures Betting

Paris-Roubaix – April 6-7

Liege-Bastogne-Liege – April 21

Giro di Lombardia – October 12

The Monuments are known as the five oldest and toughest races on the pro road circuit. The five races listed above are all considered classics. Most are one-day events, which makes them so grueling.

Among The Monuments, the Giro di Lombardia will be particularly interesting in 2024. Tadej Pogacar, the second place finisher in the last couple of Tour de France events, has won three straight Giro di Lombardia trophies.

Most cycling fans consider the Tour of Flanders to be the hardest one-day Monument race. The men’s race covers 250km over the toughest terrain in the Flanders region of Belgium.

2024 Summer Olympics

July 26th – August 11th, 2024 – Paris, France

This year’s Olympic cycling events will run at four different venues: Pont d’lena for road and time trial races, Velodrome de Saint Quentin for track cycling and BMX racing, Elancourt Hill for mountain biking, and Place de la Concorde for BMX freestyle.

Pont d’lena is the venue for traditional cycling fans to watch. The Olympic Games still means something to many great cyclists. So don’t be surprised if Pogacar and Jonas Vingegaard show up to race.

Grand Tour Events

2024 Giro d’Italia | Tour of Italy

May 4th to May 26th, 2024 – Italy

The Giro d’Italia, or the Tour of Italy, kicks off the 2024 Grand Tour. The last three winners of the Giro d’Italia is almost a who’s who of cycling.

Colombia’s Egan Bernal took home the general classification trophy in 2021. Australian Jai Hindley won in 2022. Hindley entered the 2023 Tour de France one of the top underdog plays.

At last year’s Tour, the 2023 Giro d’Italia winner, Primoz Roglic, was one of the favorites.

Roglic couldn’t sustain the excellent form he showed in the Giro d’Italia in France. After the first two stages, it was obvious that Roglic didn’t have it.

Pogacar and Vindegaard did.

Bernal took home the yellow jersey in 2019. But then, it was all Tadej Pogacar, who won back-to-back titles in 2020 and 2021.

Jonas Vingegaard won the general classification in 2022. Last year, Pogacar appeared to be cruising to another yellow jersey, but Vingegaard one of the great rallies in cycling history to win his second straight title.

This year, expect all eyes to be on Pogacar and Vingegaard. Their rivalry should last for at least one more Tour de France.

2024 Vuelta a Espana | Tour of Spain

August 17th to September 8th, 2024 – Portugal and Spain

Primoz Roglic had won three straight Vuelta a Espana titles. But in 2022, Belgium’s Remco Evenepoel took the top prize.

In conclusion, in 2023, pigs flew when American Sepp Kuss won the yellow jersey at the Vuelta a Espana. Kuss rides for Team Jumbo-Visma, the same team that puts Jonas Vingegaard atop a cycle. Kuss might show up one of the favorites this year if Vingegaard and Roglic suffer Tour de France after effects.

Cycling Betting Analysis: Giro de Italia and Tour de France for 2022

Previous Betting News

Heading into 2022, a couple of races are at the top of every cycling handicappers’ mind. The first happens in May when the top cyclists on the planet head to Hungary and then Italy for the Giro d’Italia. The second, and more famous of the two, happens in Denmark and then France in July. The 2022 Tour de France promises to be one of the year’s most intriguing events. Keep reading for more information about both this year’s Giro d’Italia odds and Tour de France Betting analysis.

Cycling Futures Betting: Giro de Italia and Tour de France for 2022

2022 Giro d’Italia

May 6th – May 29th, 2022
Hungary and Italy

What is the Giro d’Italia?
The Giro, or the Tour of Italy, is one of cycling’s Big Three events. The Tour de France is the Kentucky Derby of racing. The Vuelta a Espana and the Giro d’Italia make up the Preakness and Belmont of cycling.

Sometimes the Giro starts on foreign soil. In 2018, the race began in Israel. This year, the Giro starts in Hungary before moving to Italy.

Has the Giro d’Italia surpassed the Tour de France?

Not yet. But there is a huge contingent of cycling fans who believe the Giro should be the most important event of the year.

Colombia’s Egan Bernal won the Giro d’Italia in 2021. Most consider Bernal one of the top five cyclists on the planet. Bernal winning the race adds gravitas to the event.

But neither Tadej Pogacar, nor Primoz Roglic, the top-two cyclists in the world, raced in Italy. Until cyclists like Pogacar and Roglic start preparing for the Giro, the Tour of Italy won’t catch the Tour de France as the top cycling event of the year.

2022 Tour de France

July 1 – July 24, 2022

2022 Tour de France – Top 10 Odds Choices

2021 Tour de France Recap

Team Jumbo-Visma entered the Tour de France the squad to beat. Not only did Jumbo-Visma sport the top-rated cyclist in the world, Primoz Roglic, but they also had an under the radar up and comer in Jonas Vingegaard.

Roglic suffered a crash and then had to abandon the race. Vingegaard stepped up to lead Visma to a second-place in the general classification.

Tadej Pogacar with UAE Team Emirates won the yellow jersey. It was Pogacar’s second straight Tour de France victory. The Slovenian should head into the 2022 race a solid favorite.

Which Cyclist Offers Overlay Odds? Pogacar, Vingegaard, or Roglic?

Vingegaard showed he can lead the top-rated team in cycling. But he may not have the experience to beat Pogacar.

Also, as great as Jumbo-Visma is, UAE Team Emirates has put dollars and man power towards creating the top team in cycling, which means Vingegaard and Roglic will head to the Tour at a disadvantage.

Roglic offers better odds than the chalk. But Pogacar beat Roglic in 2020 and 2021. He also had a shot to win in 2019. So even though Tadej is the chalk, he offers the fairest odds among the favorites to grab this year’s yellow jersey.

Will this Be Egan Bernal’s year?

It could be. Bernal won the 2019 Tour de France. He didn’t finish in 2020 after suffering back pain.

But although Bernal will have a chance, he has yet to say he will race in the 2021 event. Bernal won the Giro last year and then raced in the Vuelta, but he didn’t race in the Tour de France.

Who knows? If Team Sky, who Bernal races for, sees Jumbo-Visma and UAE Team Emirates skipping the Giro this year with their best cyclists, Team Sky might put most of their efforts towards winning the Giro again and may not compete as hard in the Tour de France.

Name an Underdog or Two at +2800 to +4000 Odds who have Chances of Upsetting the Favorites

Ecuadorian Richard Carapaz had a terrific Tour de France. The 28-year-old finished third in the race behind Pogacar and Vingegaard.

Vingegaard moves back to his secondary position if Roglic is healthy enough to race this year. So there’s a chance Carapaz will be close to the top two finishers again. It doesn’t mean he wins. But it does mean he’s worth a look at +2800.

Geraint Thomas is worth a look. He won the Tour de Romandie last year. Thomas finished forty-first at the Tour de France in 2021. But in 2019, he finished second overall and in 2018 he won a couple of stages.

In conclusion, Thomas will require luck. But every cyclist outside of Pogacar and Roglic requires luck to win the yellow jersey, making the 35-year-old Geraint a solid underdog play.
