In terms of the World Championship in Formula 1, the season may be over, but the competitive spirit is still very much alive and well.
As we head into the final race of the season in Abu Dhabi there is a rather disturbing story circulating, with George Russell saying that 4-time champion Max Verstappen threatened him ahead of the previous race.

2024 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix Race Analysis
Whether this is a story that is being blown out of proportion or one that is wholly accurate, it still makes for some potential bad blood on the track this weekend.
It is going to be interesting to see how these two drivers battle against one another in Abu Dhabi, which could make for some exciting viewing.
Who will be on the podium when all is said and done, though? Let’s see if we can figure it out.
^Lando Norris +124
With the title all locked up, some F1 fans are looking ahead to next season to try and figure out if anyone can knock Verstappen off the top spot. Lando Norris appears to be the guy that could make a serious run at the World Championship next season, although his team and the car he drives will play a role in just how serious his challenge will be.
He has 3 wins this season and looks set to finish 2nd overall. That said, he has now gone 3 in a row without a podium finish and has never cracked the top 3 in this race, so wager on him with caution.
^Max Verstappen +300
For Verstappen, his work for the season is done, as he will be walking away with yet another World Championship win, but does that mean he will be taking his foot off the gas? If recent results are anything to go by, you have to say that the answer to that question is no.
After a long streak of races without a win, Verstappen appears to have rediscovered his form, winning 2 of the last 3 races, including a checkered flag in Qatar last weekend. You also have to consider that he has won this race in each of the last 4 seasons, making him the easy pick to win again on Sunday.
^George Russell +890
All eyes will almost certainly be on Russell given the news of his beef with Verstappen, but can he step up and win that battle? He does have a couple of wins under his belt this season, including a recent victory on the streets of Las Vegas, but Russell has not been on the podium too many times outside of those wins.
Still, he ran 3rd in this race last season, and seeing Leclerc drop down the grid might just open the door for him to get on the podium in Abu Dhabi.
^Charles Leclerc +1625
If you are all set to pull the trigger on betting on Leclerc to win or land in the top 3 this weekend, be aware that he has been handed a 10-place grid penalty, so he will be starting this race behind the 8-ball.
That demotion could end up costing Ferrari a shot at the Constructors Championship, but you can bet that Leclerc is going to battle to get up among the leaders as quickly as possible. It might be worth taking a shot at him getting on the podium.

The question now is whether any driver is going to be able to step up and seriously challenge him in the coming seasons, as he just seems to be getting better with each passing year. Of course, it is also on the constructors to do their part in delivering a vehicle that can compete with what Red Bull Racing is doing for their champion. All of that is talk for a later date, but for now, all the focus is on Abu Dhabi and the final race of the season. Will Verstappen continue to rule the roost, or can some other drivers go out and spoil the party on Sunday? Let’s take a look at the current F1 odds.

Max Verstappen
If you look at other motor sports, the odds among the race favorites tend to be a good deal closer, but the fact that Verstappen is a favorite at odds of -400 for this one gives you some idea of just how unbeatable he has been this season, or the past few seasons for that matter. He already has the record for most wins in a single season, as well as now having the best win percentage in the history of the sport, and you have to feel that he is just going to continue adding to those stats. The record that he now has for wins in a season is a mark that could well be night on impossible to beat, but can he add to it this weekend? The fact that he has win the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix in each of the last 3 seasons suggests that he certainly can.

Lando Norris
While this season has been all about Verstappen and his heady numbers, there is a driver that is emerging as a possible challenger in coming seasons. That would be Lando Norris (+1075), who is 2 years younger than Verstappen and showing signs of making real progress at this level. The second half of the season has been particularly good for the young driver, and while a win here seems a longshot, I would definitely be willing to play him as a podium finisher.

Sergio Perez
Started the season by picking up a couple of wins in the first few races of the season, but he eventually gave way to his Red Bull teammate as the season progressed, with his form suffering in the process. He has shown some signs of life in the last couple of races and might well be worth a look as a potential podium finisher in this race. He finished 3rd overall in Abu Dhabi last season.

Charles Leclerc
Once again, Lewis Hamilton is considered an afterthought by the bookies, sitting behind Charles Leclerc (+1475) on the board. Leclerc has a pair of podium finishes in his last 3 races and was 2nd in Abu Dhabi last season, so he is definitely worth a look in Sunday.
