2024 Las Vegas Grand Prix Analysis

There is just something especially cool about road races on city streets, which is one of the reasons why the Monaco Grand Prix is always one of the most popular races on the calendar.

The question now is about who will prevail in Sin City, so let’s do something a little different this week and talk about the odds to finish in the top 3.

Max Verstappen +460

Any thoughts that Verstappen might be about to have his title taken away were essentially stripped with his win in Sao Paulo in the last race. That victory snapped a run of 10 straight races without a victory, which must have felt like an eternity for a driver who has made a habit of winning on a regular basis. The question now is whether he can take that win and finish the season on a high. All signs would seem to point to him doing just that, especially when you consider that he won in Las Vegas last season.

Lando Norris +275

It is beginning to look as though Norris is going to need to settle for 2nd place overall this year, and while he will be disappointed not to win it all, he will be delighted at delivering his best career performance in F1. This has been a breakout season for Norris, who has won 3 races and spent some time on the podium, all while making things a little uncomfortable for Verstappen in his quest for a three-peat. Norris failed to finish in Las Vegas last season, but there is a very good chance that he will make it onto the podium this weekend.

Charles Leclerc +248

It has been another solid season for Charles Leclerc, who comes into this race having won 3 times this year. One thing to consider is that one of those victories came on the streets of Monaco, so does that mean that he is better equipped to handle these road races than other drivers? Well, he did finish 2nd in Las Vegas in 2023, so there is every reason to believe he will be in the mix. Even if you remove the road race equation, Leclerc has made a habit of being on the podium, which is why he seems a very good bet to finish in the top 3 on Sunday.

Carlos Sainz Jr. +610

If you are looking for a top 3 finisher at better odds, then it might be worth taking a shot with Sainz Jr. He has a pair of wins to his name this season, but he has also been on the podium in 2 of his last 3 races. He did not perform particularly well in Vegas last season, finishing 6th overall, but this is another opportunity for him to shine. Well worth a look at these odds.

2023 Formula 1 Las Vegas Grand Prix

The Las Vegas Strip is home to some of the best entertainment in the world, but instead of concerts and casinos, this weekend will see the streets of Vegas turned into a racetrack for the F1 Las Vegas Grand Prix. F1 Odds and Lines at MyBookie Sportsbook

It’s a city that is more than worthy of the major spectacle that is Formula 1 racing, and we just with that this race was more meaningful in terms of the battle for the World Championship. That was decided quite some time ago, but this is still a race that you are all going to want to potentially wager on, as it may deliver some surprises along the way and create some winning tickets for bettors. As always, we have a very clear favorite for this race, but let’s take a closer look at the current F1 odds.

Max Verstappen

The Dutchman has long since wrapped up his 3rd straight World Championship, but rather than taking it easy and riding out the rest of the season, Verstappen seems intent on simply not losing another race. That would not really come as a surprise to anyone, as there have only been 3 races that he has not won this season, and only 1 where he has finished worse than 2nd. Heading into this weekend in Sin City, Verstappen is on a run of 5 straight wins, but this is a going to be a little bit of a different challenge, as this will be the first run on the streets of Las Vegas. In fairness, Verstappen did win a street race in Monaco earlier in the season, plus it seems like he is more than prepared to tackle any challenge or obstacle that comes his way. Hard to see him losing this weekend.

Other Drivers to Consider

Given that this is a new challenge for all the drivers, it might be worth taking a risk on someone to beat the champ. The bookies have Charles Leclerc (+520) on the board as the second favorite for this race even though he has yet to win this season and has found podium finishes hard to come by of late.

A better pick this weekend might well be Lando Norris (+1200), as he has been knocking on the door of a win of late. In fact, he has 5 podium finishes in the last 6 races and looks to be a very good pick to finish in the top 3. At these odds, I might well be tempted to play him to win, albeit without splashing down too much money to place that wager. A Top 3 definitely seems like the safer bet with Norris.

We close out this preview with Sergio Perez (+1575) even though his season has gone from hot to cold in the second half of the season. At the start of the year, he won a couple of races and looked like he might be a legitimate challenger to his Red Bull racing teammate, but things have not gone that way for Perez. I certainly wouldn’t be putting any money on him to win, but a top 3 or top 5 finish certainly seems feasible.
