2021 Rolex Turkish GP Expert Analysis – Formula 1 Betting

This Formula 1 season has been an absolute blast, with all manner of drama and controversy creating a year to remember. We also have a ridiculously close championship race going on, with Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen separated by just 2 points at this late stage of the season. This weekend, the drivers will be in Turkey for another huge race, the first of 7 remaining on the year. The Turkish Grand Prix was a mainstay on the F1 schedule from 2005 to 2011 before making a return as a replacement destination in a disrupted 2020 season. Given that none of the drivers really have a ton of experience racing on this track, maybe we are being set up for a surprising outcome this weekend. Maybe, though, we are going to get more of the same as the top two drivers continue to open up a gap on the chasing pack. Let’s take a look at the F1 current odds for the 2021 Turkish Grand Prix.

Formula 1 Betting Analysis for the Rolex Turkish GP 2021 Race

Max Verstappen (-110)

After winning back-to-back races in Belgium and the Netherlands, Verstappen once again found himself on top of the driver standings, but not for long. What followed those wins was a controversial crash in Italy, where Verstappen found his vehicle resting on top of Hamilton’s after a collision. The good news was that both men walked away without injury, although the incident did increase the bad blood between the rivals. Verstappen followed that up with a 2nd place run in Russia, coming in behind Hamilton, who moved back to the top of the standings. This will only be the second time that Verstappen has raced on this track, and he knows he will need to do better than his 6th pace finish in this race in 2020.

Lewis Hamilton (+120)

It tells you something about the dominance of Hamilton in his time in F1 that this season is considered to be a little underwhelming. You hear fans say that he only has 5 wins, which is still a staggering amount, all things considered. It is also enough to have him sitting atop the driver standings, albeit by a mere 2 points over Verstappen. The win in Russia put Hamilton back on top, while also putting a ton of pressure on Verstappen. After all, this is a position that Hamilton has been in countless times on the road to his 7 world championships, so you would think that he is the better equipped of the two to close this thing out. In terms of this race, Hamilton has won it twice, which also gives him an edge this weekend.

The Rest of the Pack

There are a couple of drivers to perhaps take a look at this weekend. Last year, it was Sergio Perez (+1600) who finished second behind Hamilton in Turkey. Another thing to note from the 2020 race was that Lando Norris (+3300) had the fastest lap. While that latter little detail doesn’t mean much in the grand scheme of things, it is worth noting if you fancy making a longshot bet.
