After a bit of a quiet period over the holidays, we are seeing MMA organizations return to business with new events. Invicta FC has a big one coming on Wednesday, with a 6-fight main card that has all the bouts featuring top-notch female fighters. It’s a solid card, but the pick of the bunch is a title fight, which serves as the headliner. We are going to quickly break down all 6 fights, with Invicta Betting odds and predictions for each, so let’s get right to it.
MMA Betting Preview for Invicta FC: Zappitella vs Delboni II
Katie Saull (-300) Vs Tamika Jones (+240)
We get the evening rolling with an Atomweight bout between a pair of fighters still early in their pro careers. Saull comes in with a rather unimpressive 3-5 record and a streak that has seen her lose each of her last 3 fights. This will be just the second pro fight for Jones, who did manage to come away with the win in her pro debut. Let’s take the upset here, with Jones winning by decision.
Helen Peralta (-600) Vs Elise Pone (+400)
The next bout up on the main card is a Flyweight bout between a pair of relative newbies. Peralta comes into this one boasting a 4-2 record, but she has had a hard time putting together back-to-back wins since going pro. There is a not a lot to go on when looking at Pone, as she has had just 1 pro fight, although she did come away with the win there. I like Peralta for the decision.
Maria Jose Favela (-345) Vs Sarah Kleczka (+270)
The bantamweights are next into the octagon, with one of these fighters looking for a serious reversal of fortune. Favela started her pro career with 2 straight wins, but she lost last time out and will be looking to bounce back. Things are much worse for Kleczka, who won both of her early pro fights, but she is now on a 3-fight losing skid. I have Favela with the decision win.
Monica Franco (+210) Vs Hailey Cowan (-270)
Next up is another Bantamweight bout, with one of these fighters looking to maintain her unbeaten record. That would be Franco, who comes into this fight at 2-0, with her last fight going the distance. Cowan is also looking to rebound after a loss, but she is still a very respectable 5-2. My money is on Cowan to win by decision.
Ramona Pascual (-355) Vs Shamir Peshewa (+280)
This catchweight bout will serve as the co-main event of the night and it looks like a good one. After a bit of an uneven start to her pro career, Pascual has put things together of late, going to 5-2 after winning 3 in a row. Peshewa is still early in her pro career, but she has started strong, winning each of her first 2 fights. I like Pascual to get this one by decision.
Alesha Zappitella (+180) Vs Jessica Delboni (-220)
The final fight of the night is an Atomweight title fight and a rematch. The last meeting between these two ended with Zappitella winning via split decision. That took her winning streak to 4 and her overall record to 9-2. Since that loss, Delboni has rebounded nicely and won 3 in a row. I think that streak comes to an end on Wednesday night.
I have read enough, I need to place my bet now. What to do?
