Andrej Kramaric is also a veteran. The 32 year old TSG Hoffenheim player dropped 15 goals and 6 assists this past season. If Modric and Kramaric hold up, Croatia, which always seems to play well in international tournaments, will have a chance.

Denmark

Cristian Eriksen, Rasmus Hojlund

Eriksen, who suffered at heart attack at the last World Cup, has come back strong. He didn’t have a great season at Man United, scoring just a single goal in 12 starts. When it comes to Denmark, though, the team motors behind Eriksen’s ability to control midfield.

Rasmus Hojlund also played for the Red Devils this past season. Hojlund is emerging as one of the strikers top young strikers. He scored 10 goals and dished 2 assists in 25 starts and 5 sub appearances.

England

Harry Kane, Jude Bellingham, Bukayo Saka

The English are loaded. We could make a case to add Jack Grealish, Declan Rice, and Phil Foden to the list.

We’re going with these three because they each bring something new.

20 year old Jude Bellingham voted La Liga Player of the Year in his first stint in Real Madrid white.

El Blanco was a different team than last year’s squad this season and it was because of Bellingham.

A case can be made that Bellingham is the best player in the world after he scored 19 goals and dished 7 assists in 27 starts.

Harry Kane remains one of the planet’s top strikers. Now with Bayern Munich, Kane dropped 36 goals and 8 assists in 32 starts.

The man does it all for Munich just like he did it all for Tottenham.

Kane will create his shot at Euro 2024 as well as set up the other player on this list, Bukayo Saka.

The emergence of Bukayo Saka is the reason Arsenal got oh so close to knocking off Man City and winning this season’s Premier title.

At just 22 years old, Saka has amazing potential to become England’s next great striker.

Expect Bellingham and Saka to take charge the longer the competition unfolds.  

France

Kylian Mbappe, Ousmane Dembele, Aurelian Tchouameni

France, the second choice, counters England with who many believe is the best player in the world, Kylian Mbappe.

The former Paris Saint-Germain and now Real Madrid star had 27 goals and 7 assists in 24 starts.

As long as Mbappe is on the pitch, France will have a shot to win the title.

Ousmane Dembele has an important position, to stand with Mbappe at the top of the lineup.

Dembele doesn’t score as many goals or dish as many assists as Mbappe, but Ousmane will take pressure off Kylian.

Also, if two players mark Mbappe, Dembele will get his chances.

Aurelian Tchouameni is an excellent midfielder for Real Madrid. Tchouameni plays alongside Bellingham, which is why his stats aren’t as impressive.

For France, Tchouameni should end up being the focal point in the middle of the field.   

Germany

Leroy Sane, Jamal Musiala

Host city Germany has a real chance this year and it’s mostly because of the two players mentioned above.

Sane’s goals and assists were down this season but that’s because Bayern transferred Harry Kane.

Sane is Germany’s main forward. He will have a fantastic Euro 2024 because standing next to him will be 21 year old Jamal Musiala.

Another Bayern Munich star, Musiala scored 10 goals and garnered 6 assists in 20 starts.

Musiala could play a midfield role as well due to his excellent passing ability.   

Italy

Nicola Barella, Federico Chiesa

The defending champs make this list because although the Italians aren’t as deep this year as they were in the 2020 tournament, two excellent players remain a huge part of the team.

Inter Milan midfielder Nicola Barella didn’t put up huge stats but he started 34 matches for Inter.

Barella will man the middle for the Azzuri.

Most of his passes are likely to go to Federico Chiesa.

The Juventus forward had a decent season that should set him up well for a nice Euro 2024.

Chiesa and Barella were key parts of Italy’s Euro 2020 victory. 

Netherlands

Ryan Gravenberch, Cody Gakpo, Xavi Simons

The Dutch could sneak up on their competition at Euro 2024.

If they do, it will be because of 3 rising and young stars.

Ryan Gravenberch had just 12 starts this season at Liverpool but the Reds have high hopes for the 22 year old.

Gravenberch appeared off the bench in 14 starts. He could for sure emerge at Euro 2024.

Xavi Simons started 32 matches for RB Leipzig, one of the top teams in the Bundesliga.

Simons is just 21 years old. Like Gravenberch, his stats weren’t eye popping.

But the fact Leipzig started him 32 times tells us how much faith they have in the young player.

Cody Gakpo is the veteran at 25 years old. Gakpo scored 8 goals and dished 5 assists for Liverpool in 8 starts.

Gakpo will point Simons and Gravenberch in the right direction.

Because of their young talent, the Dutch have a massive shot to win Euro 2024.    

Portugal

Bruno Fernandes, Rafael Leao, Diogo Jota

While the Dutch will lean on young talent, the Portuguese will lean on mostly veteran talent.

Ronaldo didn’t make our list because even Christiano knows that this is Bruno Fernandes’s team.

Fernandes is one of the reasons Man United upset Manchester City to win the FA Cup.

Fernandes is a top class midfielder who will set up teammates Rafael Leao and Diogo Jota.

Leao wears number 10 for AC Milan, one of the Serie A’s top squads.

The forward has excellent flexibility, meaning he can drop back and play mid while Fernandes rolls forward.

Diogo Jota had an incredible season considering how many games he played for Liverpool. Jota scored 10 goals and had 7 assists in just 21 matches.

Like Fernandes and Leao, Jota can make his own shot or dish to an open teammate.  

Spain

Lamine Yamal, Ferran Torres, Dani Olmo   

Spain is the second deepest team at Euro 2024 after England. So we struggled to find three players to put on our list.

16 year old Lamine Yamal started 22 matches and subbed 15 times for Barcelona.

Yamal scored 5 goals and dished 5 assists. He’s easily one of the top young players in the world.

Ferran Torres scored 7 goals and had 2 assists in 12 starts for Barcelona. Torres, like many of the young players on this list, could emerge at Euro 2024 as one of soccer’s young stars.

Dani Olmo, another forward, plays for RB Leipzig.

Olmo can make his shot, dish, and fall back and play great defense.

We only listed Yamal, Torres, and Olmo. However, Pedri, Rodri, Danny Carvajal, and Mikel Oyarzabal speak to how deep the Spanish are.
