After a break for the holiday period, we now have MMA action coming at us thick and fast over the next few days. There is a lot of ground to cover and a lot of events to get into, but for the purposes of this piece, we are going to be looking at LFA 121. This event is set to go at 9 PM EST on Friday night and can be seen on UFC Fight Pass. There are a total of 6 fights set for the main card, and while we do not have a title fight to look forward to, there are still some very solid bouts on tap. Let’s break it all down and take a closer look at the main card for LFA 121 so you can make your bets against the LFA odds.
MMA Betting Preview for LFA 121: McKenzie Vs Jones
John Pham Vs Anvar Boynazarov
The main card begins with a Featherweight bout featuring a pair of relative new fighters to the pro game. Pham has been a little inconsistent on his way to a 4-2record, but he is coming into this one on the heels of back-to-back wins. There is not a lot to go on with Boynazarov, but what we do know is that he has won both of his pro fights. I think he can keep that run going with a KO win here.
Alden Coria Vs Michael Cyr
We have the Bantamweights stepping into the octagon next, with one of these fighters set to lose their unbeaten mark. Coria is 5-0 and has made things look easy, being forced to go the distance in just 1 of his 5 bouts. Cyr is 3-0 and has never had to go beyond the 2nd round, so something has to give in this one. I am taking Coria for the submission win.
Chris Brown Vs Steve Jones
Next up is a Welterweight bout and a pair of fighters with a bit more experience than what we have seen in the earlier fights. Brown is 7-3 and has bounced back from 2 straight losses to win his last 2 fights. Jones is 8-2 overall and looking to bounce back after losing last time out. An evenly matched bout, but I am siding with Brown.
Isaiah Gutierrez Vs Keeton Gorton
We have a Bantamweight fight up next and a matchup that looks to be a little lopsided. Gutierrez comes into this one with a 6-1 career mark, bouncing back to win 2 in a row after taking his first career loss. Gorton has had trouble with consistency from the off and comes into this one at 6-5. This looks like a straightforward win for Gutierrez.
Elijah Johns Vs Brandon Phillips
This Featherweight bout will serve as the co-main event of the night, and it looks like a good one. Johns comes into this bout with a 7-2 record and he will be looking to get back to winning ways after losing last time out. Phillips has an 8-4 career mark, but he has been struggling, losing 3 of his last 5. I’m on Johns all the way here.
Aaron McKenzie Vs Joshua Jones
Like we said at the start, the headliner is not a title bout, but it still has all the makings of a great Lightweight battle. McKenzie comes into this one with an impressive 10-2-1 record and a 3-fight win streak. While Jones has been a little up and down of late, he has won 2 in a row to get to 11-5. I like McKenzie to take this one by decision.
I have read enough, I need to place my bet now. What to do?
