It’s Easter weekend and a time to relax, but that is not the case for the fighters set to step into the octagon on Friday night for LFA 129. Get ready to sign into UFC Fight Pass, as we have a 5-fight main card that promises to be a beauty, and which includes a title fight as the headliner. This event takes places at the Mystic Lakes Hotel & Casino in Minnesota and is set to go off at 9 PM EST on Friday night. It looks to me like the perfect way to start the weekend, with some winning bets the only way to make it even better. Let’s see if we can pick a few winners as we take a look at each of the 5 fights along with their LFA Betting Odds.
MMA Betting Preview for LFA 129: Petersen vs Cortes-Acosta
Quang Le (+135) Vs Sam Paneitz (-165)
The main card begins with a Bantamweight bout and a pair of fighters looking to get rolling in the early stages of their pro careers. Le has certainly looked very good in his first few fights as a pro, going a perfect 3-0 and picking up a couple of Round 1 wins in the process. It was a much rockier start for Paneitz, who lost his first pro fight before going on to win the next 2, both in the opening round. I like Le to stay perfect with the submission win.
Tee Cummins (-140) Vs Dylan Budka (+110)
We have a Middleweight bout up next on the main card, with one of these fighters looking to bounce back after taking his first loss. That fighter is Cummins, who fell to 4-1 overall after losing last time out. It’s tough to know how he will react to this setback. We already know how Budka reacted, as he bounced back to win 2 in a row after dropping the first fight of his pro career. I like Cummins to get back on track with the KO win.
Tyus White (-585) Vs Jeff Jepsen (+410)
The third fight on the main card, which is a Flyweight bout, might be the first of the bunch that looks to be clear cut. White comes into this one as the overwhelming favorite despite coming off a loss that dropped him to 4-1 last time out. The problem with Jepsen is that he has had a tough time remaining consistent, going 6-3, with all 3 losses coming in his last 5 fights. I like White to win this one, although he may need to go the distance to get the W.
Hyder Amil (-585) Vs Devante Sewell (+410)
The co-main event of the night is a Featherweight bout that features a fighter trying to maintain an unbeaten record. That would be Amil, who comes into this one with a perfect 5-0 record. 4 of those 5 wins came inside the opening 2 rounds. Sewell has been a good deal more unpredictable as a pro, going 9-6 overall and coming up short in 4 of his last 6 fights. I like Amil to get the KO win in the early going in this one.
Thomas Petersen (-165) Vs Waldo Cortes-Acosta (+135)
By the time LFA 129 comes to a close, we will know who the new Heavyweight Champion will be, with both of these men vying for the vacant crown. Petersen is still relatively new to the pro fight game, but he has put together an impressive start, going 5-0. It is the exact same story for Cortes-Acosta, who also comes into the title fight at 5-0. I would be surprised to see the big men go the distance, as I like Petersen for the KO win.
I have read enough, I need to place my bet now. What to do?
