The weekend is once again upon us, which is always great news for MMA fans who love to watch and wager on as many events as possible. It is another busy weekend of action that awaits, but for the purposes of this piece, we are going to focus on Bellator 273. Fear not, though, as we will be doing our best to cover all the other events going off over the next couple of days. In terms of the main card, this one is a little smaller than we are used to, with just 4 fights set to go on Saturday night, starting at 7 PM EST on Showtime. While there may not be a huge card to look forward to, the fights are all top-notch, with the headline bout being a title fight, so still a lot to sink your teeth into. Let’s take a moment to break down all 4 fights, while also making some predictions along the way so you can bet against their Bellator odds.
Bellator 273 Betting Preview | MMA Analysis
Sabah Homasi (+180) Vs Jaleel Willis (-220)
We get the main card started with a Welterweight bout and a pair of fighters who could really use a win on the night. Homasi comes into this bout with a 15-10 record, but he is also on a run that has seen him lose each of his last 2 fights. He has been a streaky fighter as a pro, so this in not that surprising. Willis saw a 6-fight win streak come to an end with a loss last time out, so he will be looking to bounce back with a win in this one. I like Willis to win, but he may need to go the distance to do it.
Henry Corrales (+105) Vs Aiden Lee (-125)
We have a Featherweight bout up next, and once again, we are looking at a pair of fighters who could use a win to snap out of a funk. Corrales is coming off a win last time out, but he has still lost 3 of his last 5. 4 of those last 5 fights have gone the distance, so he is not an easy out. This will be fight #6 for Lee under the Bellator banner as he looks to improve upon a 3-2 record during that run. I am leaning towards the underdog here and taking Corrales to win.
Benson Henderson (+320) Vs Islam Mamedov (-420)
This Lightweight bout serves as the co-main event of the evening, and we have to say that it may be the easiest of the 4 fights to handicap. Henderson is 28-11 overall, but he is on a poor run of form that has seen him lose each of his last 3 fights. On the flipside, you have Mamedov, who started hos pro career at 1-1 before going unbeaten in his next 20 fights. This looks like a straightforward win for Mamedov, but he might need to go all the way to win.
Ryan Bader (+205) Vs Valentin Moldavsky (-255)
The final fight of the night is for the Light Heavyweight Championship. You have Bader in as the current champ and Moldavsky competing as the interim champion. Bader only has 2 wins in his last 6 fights, so there needs to be some serious concern about his form ahead of this one. There are no such issues for Moldavsky, as he enters this fight having won each of his last 6. I would not be surprised to see Moldavsky win this one with a KO early on.
I have read enough, I need to place my bet now. What to do?
