The main event at CW 147 was supposed to pit Sam Creasy against Shaj Haque. But Creasy had to pull out of the bout due to an illness. No worries. George Hardwick versus Chris Bungard for the Cage Warriors Lightweight Title now becomes the main event. In addition to Bungard against Hardwick, Morgan Charriere takes on Daniel Bazant and Will Currie throws down against Michael Tchamou. MMA Betting Preview for Cage Warriors 147
CW 147 Unplugged
- When: Saturday, Nov. 20 at 4:00 pm ET
- Where: BT Sport Studio, London, England
George McManus 3-3 vs Omran Chaaban 3-1
George “The Hangman” McManus has won 3 via submission and has lost 2 via technical knockout due to punches. McManus lost his third fight via knockout due to punches.
Chaaban has 3 wins and a loss. Each of Chaaban’s wins have come a different way, via KO/TKO, by decision, and by submission. The loss happened in a fight against Joan Arastey via unanimous decision. On paper, it looks like Omran has the edge.
Jan Quaeyhaegens 9-4 vs Erick da Silva 22-8
da Silva’s record impresses. But although Erick has a great record, his recent form leaves much to be desired. The 22-time winner was on a 9-match winning streak.
But since a 2017 bout, da Silva has lost 4-of-5. Erick is on a 3-match losing streak.
Quaeyhaegens has a 9-4 record. Although Jan doesn’t have da Silva’s experience, he’s in better form. In his last 7, Queayhaegens has won 6. The last loss happened in a 2018 bout against Philip Mulpeter.
Will Currie 8-2 vs Michael Tchamou 3-1
Currie boasts excellent submission skills. Among Will’s 8 wins, 5 have come via submission. Currie has knocked out an opponent and submitted another. Will is on a 3-match winning streak. So he will head into this with a lot of momentum.
Michael Tchamou bounced back from a loss to Samir Kadi with 2 wins. At CW 136, Tchamou knocked out Piotr Chmielecki via punches. Then at CW 140, Tchamou beat Glenn Irvine via punches.
Both Currie and Tchamou are capable. Expect a terrific bout.
Morgan Charriere 15-9-1 vs Daniel Bazant 7-3
Morgan Charriere’s nickname is the “The Last Pirate, which we think is one of the best in the sport. Charriere has won 15 of his bouts via knockout or technical knockout. He’s won 3 of his fights via submission and another 4 via decision.
Bazant doesn’t have a nickname. The fighter from Croatia has won 6 of his bouts via knockout. This should be an ultra-entertaining fight. Like almost every bout on the CW 147 main card, this one can go either way.
George Hardwick 10-1 vs Chris Bungard 17-7 | Lightweight Title
Challenger Chris Bungard is a tough customer. None of Chris’ 7 losses happened via knockout or technical knockout. Bungard has lost 4 via decision and 3 via submission.
But although Bungard is tough, he’s up against it versus talented George Hardwick. The champ’s lone loss happened via decision.
Hardwick has won 5 straight since the 2019 defeat to Madars Bertholds-Fleminas. Hardwick will be tough to beat.
I have read enough, I need to place my bet now. What to do?
