As always, we have a busy weekend in the world of MMA, with several big events coming our way over the next few days. Cage Warriors are going out of their way to make sure that we get the weekend started with a bang, as they have a title fight lined up and ready to go on Friday afternoon. All in all, there are 5 fights on the main card at Cage Warriors 145, and while they all look like good matchups, it’s the battle for the Featherweight Championship that is deservedly sitting at the top of the main card as the headliner. The action begins at 3 PM EST on Friday afternoon, with all the action available on UFC Fight Pass. Let’s take a closer look at the 5 fights on the main card, with predictions for each so you can place your bets against the Cage Warriors Odds.
MMA Betting Preview for Cage Warriors 145
Modestas Bukauskas Vs Lee Chadwick
We get the afternoon started with a Light Heavyweight bout between a pair of experienced fighters in need of a win. You have to say that Bukauskas is the more desperate of the two fighters, as he is coming into this one having lost each of his last 3 bouts to fall to 11-5. Chadwick, who is 28-16-1, is coming off a win, but he still has a pair of losses in his last 5. I think this might be the one that snaps Bukauskas out of his funk, as I like him for the KO win.
Mehdi Ben Lakhdhar Vs Xavier Sedras
Next up on the main card is a Lightweight bout that has a pair of fighters still relatively early in their pro careers. Lakhdhar remains unbeaten at 5-0-1, with 3 of those 5 wins coming in the opening round. Sedras is 6-2-1 and comes into this one having won each of his last 4 fights, with all of those victories coming inside the distance. A very good matchup here and one that I think ends with a KO win for Lakhdhar.
Caolan Loughran Vs Luke Shanks
Next up is a Bantamweight bout that features one of these fighters trying to maintain a perfect record. That would be Loughran, who comes into this one having won each of his 6 pro fights. 4 of those wins came inside the distance. Shanks is 10-3, and while that is a good record, what is a little concerning is that 2 of those losses have come in his last 5 fights. I am on Loughran here, but I think he will need to go the distance for the win.
James Sheehan Vs Jamie Richardson
The penultimate fight of the night is a Welterweight bout between a pair of up-and-coming fighters. Sheehan saw his pro career get off to a bit of a wobbly start, but he has put it together of late, winning each of his last 4 fights. Richardson has really been up and down in his time as a pro, putting together an 11-7 record, although he has won 2 in a row ahead of this one. I like Sheehan to get the KO win.
Jordan Vucenic Vs Paul Hughes
We close the night out with a battle for the Featherweight Championship, with Vucenic coming in as the defending champion. Vucenic stated life as a pro with a 2-1 record, but he has been unstoppable since that lone loss, winning 7 in a row. Hughes comes in at 8-1 overall and is the winner of each of his last 2 fights. This should be a fantastic fight, which I like to go the distance, with Vucenic getting the nod.
I have read enough, I need to place my bet now. What to do?
