All good things must come to and end, and while it has been a great season to this point, Tuesday night will mark the penultimate week of the Dana White Contender Series Season 6. Yes, Week 9 is upon us, with 5 more fights set to go on Tuesday night. What all of this means is that there are only a few more opportunities for fighters to make an impression and maybe land themselves a slot in the UFC. It’s still something of a longshot, but you can bet that every fighter taking part in the final 2 weeks will be doing all they can to get noticed. For now, let’s stick to Week 9 and take a closer look at the 5 fights set to go on Tuesday night, so you can make your bets against their MMA Betting Lines.
MMA Betting Picks and Preview for Dana White’s Contender Series: Season 6, Week 9
Roybert Echeverria Vs Jafel Filho
We get the evening started with what looks to be a fantastic Flyweight bout. Echeverria is proving to be a tough man to beat, as he has won all 7 of his fights as a pro, including 5 wins in the opening round. He is up against a very good fighter in Filho, who comes into this bout sporting an impressive 13-2 record and a 4-fight win streak. I am leaning toward Filho for the submission win.
Nurullo Aliev Vs Josh Wick
Next up is a Lightweight bout and another fighter looking to stay undefeated as a pro. That would be Aliev, who will step into the octagon with a perfect 6-0 record, with the majority of those fights going the distance. Wick has been a little more unpredictable, going 12-5 to this point in his career, although he has won 2 in a row ahead of this one. I like this one to go all the way, with Aliev getting the nod.
Austen Lane Vs Richard Jacobi
We have the big men stepping into the octagon next for what should be a bruising Heavyweight bout. Lane is 11-3 and has been in great form, winning each of his last 5 fights, all of which ended inside the distance. Jacobi maintained his unbeaten record with a draw last time out, taking his overall career mark to 6-0-1. I think he is potentially in real trouble here, though, as I like Lane for the KO win.
Raul Rosas Jr. Vs Mando Gutierrez
The penultimate fight of the night is a Bantamweight bout between a pair of very good fighters. Rosas has made an explosive start to his pro career, winning all 5 fights and never having to go beyond the 2nd round. Gutierrez is 7-1 overall and has bounced back nicely from his first ever loss, reeling off 3 straight wins ahead of this one. Bit of a coin flip with this one, but I have Rosas Jr. edging it.
Leon Aliu Vs Brunno Ferreira
We close the night out with a Middleweight bout between a pair of fighters who have combined for just 1 loss in their pro careers. Aliu was perfect through the first 8 fights of his career before taking a loss, but he bounced back nicely with 2 straight wins. No losses yet for Ferreira, who is a perfect 8-0 and who has made a habit of getting the job done early. I think Ferreira continues to roll with the KO win.
I have read enough, I need to place my bet now. What to do?
