PFL Challenger Series Europe 1: Betting Picks & Analysis for this Week’s Fights in Regular Season

We have just seen the end of the PFL Challenger Series, with a handful of talented fighters earning themselves PFL contracts. The action now turns to the next event, which will be a series of fights taking place across Europe. The first of those events will be in the UK, with the main card set to begin at 12 PM EST on Saturday afternoon. It’s a big main card, with 8 fights in all, so let’s jump right in so you can bet against the MMA odds.

MMA – 2023 PFL Europe Regular Season: United Kingdom

When: Saturday 03.25.2023 at 12:00 PM ET
Where: Vertu Motors Arena, Newcastle, England
TV / Streaming: DAZN

Lizzy Gevers Vs Valentina Scatizzi

We start off with a women’s Flyweight bout and a pair of fighters early in their life as a pro. Gevers is out to a fast start, winning each of her first 2 fights, both inside the distance. Scatizzi will be looking to bounce back after losing last time out and falling to 1-1. I like Gevers to get the job done quickly.

Abdellah Er-Ramy Vs Madalin Pirvulescu

It is the Light Heavyweights stepping into the octagon next, with both fighters very much in form. Er-Ramy is 6-1 overall and is on a 5-fight win streak. Pirvulescu opened strong, winning his first 5 pro fights before losing last time out. I think he bounces back from that loss with a dominating win in this one.

Cornelia Holm Vs Marta Waliczek

This is one of the more unpredictable bouts on the main card, as both fighters have been inconsistent at best. Holm is sitting at 5-5 overall and has just 1 win in her last 5 fights. It’s more of the same from Waliczek, who is 6-5 and just 2-3 in her last 5, although she is coming off a win. I’m taking Waliczek by decision.

Anthony Salamone Vs Daniel Ladero

Next up is a Light Heavyweight bout, with both of these fighters rather unfamiliar with losing. Salamone has more experience and comes in at 7-1, although that lone loss came last time out. Ladero is 3-1 and is also looking to bounce back after losing last time out. A close one here, but I have Salamone by decision.

Griet Eeckhout Vs Mafalda Carmona

This looks to be one of the more evenly matched bouts on the main card, so expect a good one. Eeckhout is 6-4-1 overall, but she has been good of late, winning 3 of her last 4 bouts. Carmona snapped a 2-fight losing skid with a win last time out, moving to 4-2 in the process. Another close on that I have Eeckhout winning by decision.

Riccardo Nosiglia Vs Jakob Nedoh

Another Light Heavyweight bout is next, with these fighters heading in very different directions. Nosiglia is 8-3 overall, but he has now lost each of his last 2 fights. On the flipside, Nedoh shrugged off a loss in his first pro fight to reel off 5 straight wins ahead of this one. I think Nedo gets this one over with quickly.

Dakota Ditcheva Vs Malin Hermansson

The co-main event of the night is a women’s Flyweight bout that looks to be more than a little lopsided. Ditcheva comes in with a perfect 7-0 record and is a huge favorite to get the job done. Hermansson has now lost each of her last 3 fights to fall to 5-4 overall. I think we are looking at a quick KO win for the favorite.

Simeon Powell Vs Mohamed Amine

The main event of the night is a Light Heavyweight bout, with one of these fighters looking to remain perfect. Powell is a perfect 7-0 and comes into the bout as a heavy favorite to keep his win streak alive. Amine is no slouch, though, and comes in at 5-1. This, though, seems like too much for him, which is why I am all over Powell.
