While it is the UFC that gets the majority of the attention in the MMA world, there are plenty of other great organizations doing business all over the world. Every fighter has to start somewhere, and for some, that means taking a shot at the PFL Challenger Series. The main PFL event comes later in the year, but this one serves as a feeder for the main event, as fans and celebrity judges get to decide which of the fighters get to move on. We have had 3 weeks of action already, with each week focusing on a specific weight class. This week, we will have the Lightweights stepping into the octagon. There are 4 fights here, with the action starting at 9 PM EST on Friday night on FuboTV. Let’s take a quick look at the PFL Challenger Series Odds and all 4 fights.
MMA Betting Preview and Picks for the 2023 PFL Week 4 Bouts
When: Friday 02.17.2023
Where: Universal Studios, Orlando, Florida
Time: 07:00 PM ET
TV: fuboTV
Charlie Decca Vs Jose Aguayo
We get the card started with a fight that is very evenly matched, which may come as a bit of a surprise when you look at the current form of both fighters. Decca is 3-2-1, but he appears to have stalled after winning his first 3 fights, as he is now just 0-2-1 in his last 3. Aguayo comes in with a 5-2 record, but he seems to be putting it all together, winning each of his last 3 bouts. I like Aguayo to keep rolling with the KO win.
Tony Caruso Vs Anthony Romero
We have a bit more experience on display in this one, as well as a pair of fighters who have combined for just 2 losses between them. Caruso is 8-1 in his pro career, winning 7 in a row before taking his first loss. He bounced back from that win a win. Romero also has just 1 loss on his way to an 11-1 record. Romero has won 2 in a row ahead of this one. I like this one to go all the way, with Romero getting the nod.
Manoel Sousa Vs Paulo Henrique
Next up is the co-main event of the night, and we have to say that it looks like a good one, with one of these fighters looking to maintain a perfect record. That would be Sousa, who comes into this fight sitting at 9-0. He has yet to go the distance in any of his fights. Henrique is 14-5, but he has been in solid form of late, winning 5 of his last 6 fights. He looks up against it here, though, and I have Sousa for the KO win.
Elvin Espinoza Vs Damir Ferhatbegovic
We close the night out with the main event and yet another fighter looking to protect a perfect pro record. This time, it is Espinoza who is the man with the perfect record, going 7-0 ahead of this one, with just 1 of those bouts going the distance. Ferhatbegovic comes in with a record of 6-2-1 and an unbeaten run that is 5 fights long. I think he will test Espinoza, but I also think he’ll come up a little short and lose by decision.
