NASCAR 2021 Cup Series Schedule Expert Analysis

Written by on January 5, 2021

After a crazy 2020 that saw midweek races and all sorts of scheduling madness, NASCAR will return to normal for 2021, at least as far as the schedule goes. All told, there will be 36 races with points up for grabs on the road to the championship. Besides the usual tracks and annual races, we are going to see some amazing new additions to the NASCAR schedule. Three new tracks will be added to the mix, with more road races than usual, not to mention a race on dirt. This is going to be an exciting new season, so let’s get into some of the highlights and things to look forward to so you can start getting ready to make your bets against their NASCAR odds.

NASCAR Betting | 2021 Cup Series Schedule: Special dates

The ball gets rolling in February with a few events at Daytona, including the Clash at Daytona on February 9. That is followed by a couple of duels in Daytona on the 11th before we get to the official first race of the season, which is the Daytona 500 on February 14. Valentine’s Day is going to be a memorable one for NASCAR lovers.

The next big day on the calendar comes on March 28, when Bristol Speedway will be temporarily turned into a dirt track for one race. You need to go all the way back to 1970 to find the last time that a NASCAR race was run on dirt, so this is sure to be a spectacle for the fans. The midway point of the season arrives on June 13, which is when we will have the All-Star Race.

We will have 10 races in the playoff this season, with the action there set to begin on September 5. The final race of the year, where the champion will be crowned, will be at the Phoenix Raceway on November 7.

New Tracks on the Schedule This Season

The first of the new tracks that we will see this coming season will me on May 23, when NASCAR will head to the Circuit of the Americas. The track, which is in Austin, Texas has been used for other notable racing events, including Formula 1.

Last spring, we learned that the Nashville Superspeedway would be added to the 2021 schedule. We will get to see the drivers hit that 1.33-mile oval in Lebanon, Tennessee on June 20, which is the weekend following the All-Star Race.

NASCAR fans who know a lot about the history of the sport may already be aware of Road America in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin. The last NASCAR event to take place on that track came back in 1956, but it will return this season for a race scheduled to go on July 4.

As you can see, there is a lot to look forward to this coming season, so now is the time to start thinking about your NASCAR wagers for 2021, including who you think will end up as the champion once all is said and done.
