It has been a bit of a wild, surprising start to the NASCAR season, with the madness of the Daytona 500 on the opening weekend setting the tone for what promises to be a fun season. We have seen back-to-back longshot winners in the Cup Series through the opening 2 weeks, but is that a trend that will continue moving forward, or will we see some of the bigger names in the sport settle into a groove as the season progresses? Only time will provide the answer to that question, so all we can do now is focus on the next race at hand. This weekend, the drivers will tackle the Homestead-Miami Speedway, so let’s take a look at some of the favorites of the Cup Series this weekend, as well as taking a closer look inside the Xfinity Series race on Saturday. That said, let’s get right to it so you can get all set to make your bets against their NASCAR odds.
Truck Series & Xfinity Series Events for the Weekend | NASCAR Betting
Xfinity Series – Contender Boats 250 – Saturday
After the opening couple of races in the Xfinity Series, it is Austin Cindric who is sitting atop the leaderboard with a win and another top 5 finish to his name. It is perhaps not that surprising to see him up among the favorites for this weekend, with his current odds sitting at +450. This, though, is not a track that he has had a ton of success at, with 7th being his best finish at Homestead to this point.
That may help explain why there are a couple of drivers ahead of him on the board, with Tyler Reddick (+170) in as the favorite on Saturday. Reddick has finished each of the last two seasons as the champion in the Xfinity Series, which includes back-to-back wins at Homestead. It has been a sow start to the season for the champ, but this might be where he bounces back.
Noah Gragson (+330) is another driver looking to improve upon his sluggish start to the season and Homestead is where it might happen. He has made a habit of running in the top 5 there, so no reason why he can’t get a win this weekend.
Cup Series – Dixie Vodka 400 – Sunday
After two races in the 2021 NASCAR season, we have had a pair of surprise winners in Michael McDowell and Christopher Bell. While there seems to be a trend developing, the bookies seem to think that we might get back to normal this week, as they have Denny Hamlin (+450) in as the race favorite. Hamlin has been solid to start the season, landing in the top 5 in both races run thus far. He has 3 wins at that track, including a win last time out.
Kevin Harvick (+550) is also off to a good start, with a top 10 and a top 5 finish in the opening two races of the season. His last run at Homestead was not great, but if you toss that one out, you see that 6 consecutive top 5 finishes there prior to his last race.
Defending champion Chase Elliott (+550) rounds out the top 3 favorites this Sunday as he looks to nab his first win at Homestead. He came very close last time out, finishing in 2nd last June. In 5 career races in Miami, he has 3 top 10 finishes.
