NASCAR Cup Series Odds this Weekend: Top 4 Value Picks for the Ally 400

To be honest, the goal of every driver in the NASCAR Cup Series is to end the season as the champion.

That said, they all want to finish at the top of the standings in the regular season, too, partly for bragging rights but also because the driver that lands on top gets some bonus points to start the playoffs with.

Betting NASCAR Odds this Weekend, Favorites at Ally 400
1. Kyle Larson | 620 points
2. Denny Hamlin | 580 points
4. Christopher Bell | 555 points
3. Ross Chastain | 510 points

My Cup Series Analysis

Whether those 15 points will actually make any difference in the end remains to be seen, but extra points certainly don’t hurt.

Right now, we have a pair of drivers, both former champions, sitting on the exact same number of points, and a handful more within striking distance.

The final few weeks are going to be fun to watch, and it all begins on Sunday in Nashville with the Ally 400. Let’s take a look at the latest NASCAR odds.

Kyle Larson NASCAR Lines +390

As mentioned at the top of this piece, Larson is tied for top spot with Chase Elliott, but he gets the official #1 standing due to the fact that he has run 1 race fewer than the rest of the pack.

He comes into this one on the heels of a top 5 finish last weekend, which was a nice bounce back from a poor showing the week prior. Larson already has 3 wins this season and has to be seen as a solid bet to win again.

He has landed in the top 5 in each of the last 2 races in Nashville, while winning this race in the 2021 season. A top 3 bet looks to be a good way to go with Larson this weekend.

Denny Hamlin NASCAR Lines +530

Is it time for Hamlin to start worrying about his form? After a solid start to the season that saw him pick up 3 wins, Hamlin has gone cold over the last 3 races, with his best finish during that stretch being 24th.

While we are sure that this is nothing more than a temporary slump in form, it does have to make you think twice about betting on him this weekend.

Do you take the chance or wait until he shows signs of breaking out of the slump? Hamlin finished in the top 3 in this race last weekend, but I am still adopting a wait and see attitude.

Christopher Bell NASCAR Lines +690

I am very much of the opinion that drivers have definite track preferences. You look at Bell’s win in New Hampshire last weekend as the perfect example, as he has now won there in 2 of the last 3 seasons.

What does that mean for him in Nashville this weekend? Well, he has been consistent on this track, landing in the top 10 in 3 straight seasons.

The question now is whether the safe bet is to take him for another tip 10 or to wager on him perhaps cracking the top 5 or 3.

Ross Chastain NASCAR Lines +710

As it stands at the moment, Chastain finds himself down in the #9 spot in the driver standings and still looking for his first win of the season.

This is eerily similar to how things went for him last season, where he finally broke his goose egg with a win in, you guessed it, Nashville.

Can history repeat itself on Sunday? That’s a tough question, but since he has not been outside the top 5 in his last 4 runs on this track, he looks like a very good bet to me.

2023 Ally 400

And just like that, there are only 10 races remaining in the Cup Series regular season, which means that the playoffs are drawing closer with each passing week. There have been a ton of surprises this season, with the biggest possibly the issues with Chase Elliot, who has missed 7 races through injury and suspension, and who is very much in danger of missing out on the playoffs. A single win can change all that, but it somehow seems harder to get a win when you really need it. The pressure is on more drivers than just Elliott, so every race is huge right now. The next one up is the Ally 400 in Nashville this weekend, so let’s take a look at the current favorites.

Kyle Larson

NASCAR Betting Pick: +550

This has been a strange type of season for Larson, as there have been times when he has looked great, and others where he has been well of the pace. That makes it difficult to wager on him to win, as you never really know what to expect from him. This is a guy that knows how to win, though, as he does have a pair of wins already this season, but those other off races have him down in 10th overall, which is much lower than we all expected from him. He was 4th in Nashville last season and won this race the year before, so maybe we will get the best of Larson on Sunday.

Martin Truex Jr.

NASCAR Betting Pick: +690

At 42 years of age, you have to think that there may not be much gas left in the tank for Truex Jr. at this level of racing. If that is indeed the case, you certainly wouldn’t know it, as he has been very good this season, winning a couple of races, including last weekend in Sonoma, and sitting at the top of the driver standings. While he is among the favorites to win this race, I still think he is a bit of a risky pick, as his most recent runs in Nashville have not been great.

Denny Hamlin

NASCAR Betting Pick: +780

Hamlin is another driver who has been tough to predict this season, as his performances have been all over the place at times. He does have 1 win to his name and is currently sitting inside the top 10 in the driver standings, sitting in 8th. He had a poor run in Sonoma last weekend, but that is a track that has always been a bit of an issue for him, so perhaps he can get back on track, pardon the pun, in Nashville, where he finished 6th last season.

Kyle Busch

NASCAR Betting Pick: +790

If you are someone that likes to wager on a driver with the hot hand, then throwing some money on Busch this weekend might not be the worst decision you could make. Busch has 3 wins already this season, but he has a 1st and a 2nd in his last 2 races and has been no worse than 7th in his last 4 races. Busch has not been great at Nashville over the last couple of seasons, but with his current form, it might just be worth taking a shot on him winning, or at least landing in the top 5.
