2024 Cup Series Championship Odds, Drivers Picks and Analysis in the last NASCAR race of the Season

It has been another exciting season in NASCAR, but it all comes to an end this weekend in Phoenix, where we will have 3 races to decide 3 champions.

While each race is big in its own right, it is the Cup Series Championship race that will definitely draw the most attention.

Cup Series Championship Odds for Sunday’s Race
1. Ryan Blaney | 5000 points
2. Joey Logano | 5000 points
3. Tyler Reddick | 5000 points
4. William Byron | 5000 points

My Cup Series Championship Analysis

We are down to the final four drivers and the pressure is on all of them to deliver the goods in the biggest race of the year.

Of course, it is worth noting that the eventual champion does not need to win this race, they just need to finish ahead of the other 3.

It all seems simple enough, but with this much pressure, it will probably come down to who can handle it best.

Let’s take a quick look at all 4 drivers, as well as their odds to win this NASCAR Cup Series Championship.

Ryan Blaney +350

If you look at the last 3 races of the 2023 season and compare it with what is happening now, you have to say that things are looking very good for Blaney.

He closed out last season with a win and a pair of 2nd place finishes, one of which came in Phoenix and was enough to land him the Cup Series Championship.

This season, he is on the exact same path, but the question now is whether a 2nd place finish on Sunday will give him the repeat he so desires.

It’s tough to know for sure, but what we do know is that Blaney really seems to like racing on this track.

In his last 5 runs in Phoenix, he has not been outside the top 5. I think he can win it this weekend and nab his 2nd straight title.

Joey Logano +700

Logano is only a couple of seasons removed from his championship win, which he nabbed with a win in Phoenix.

This has proven to be something of a rebound season for Joey after a disappointing 12th place overall finish last year.

While that Phoenix win, as well as a pair of championship wins, looks very good on the resume for He, I am just not convinced that he can get the win this weekend.

He ran outside the top 10 earlier this season in Phoenix and has not been at his best over the last couple of races.

Tyler Reddick +800

This has proven to be a breakout season for Reddick, who is making his first trip to the Championship Round after finishing 6th overall last year.

It’s the next natural step for a very good driver, but is he ready to go out and win a championship at this stage in his career?

His recent runs in Phoenix suggest that he might need to wait a little longer for that first championship win.

William Byron +600

In terms of consistency in recent weeks, it’s impossible to suggest that Byron is not in with a real shot at walking away a champion this weekend.

Over the course of the last 6 races, Byron has finished no worse than 6th, although it is worth noting that while he has been on the podium a few times during that stretch, he has failed to win a race.

He won in Phoenix in the early part of last season and has been consistent on this track, but I think he might need to settle for 2nd overall behind Blaney.

2023 Cup Series Championship

2023 NASCAR Cup Series Championship: It has been a long, exciting season in the NASCAR Cup Series, but it now all comes down to a single race to decide the winner. MyBookie Sportsbook NASCAR Lines

We are down to the final four, with some familiar names set to hit the Phoenix track on Sunday with a shot at winning it all. The final spot was filled last weekend when Ryan Blaney won in Martinsville to secure his place in the Championship Race, but will that momentum carry over into this week? Only time will tell, but the bookies certainly have their ideas on how things will play out, which is what we are going to look at here. Let’s examine the final four NASCAR odds drivers a little further to see if we can pick out the eventual winner.

NASCAR Cup Series Championship Odds
Kyle Larson +162 William Byron +265
Ryan Blaney +270 Christopher Bell +350

Kyle Larson

This is a driver that has been there and done it before, with Larson winning the Cup Series Championship just a couple of short years ago. It may be that playoff experience that has the bookies installing him as the favorite for Sunday’s final race. In truth, it has been something of an up and down season for the former champion, but he has made a habit of winning when it matters, with a pair if wins through these playoffs. When he won his championship, he did so by winning the final race of the season in Phoenix, and while he did not crack the top 5 in this race last year, let’s not forget that he was not part of the final four that time.

William Byron

Byron has been remarkably consistent throughout the playoffs this season, but he did have his worst showing in a while last weekend in Martinsville, although he has already booked his ticket into the final race by that point. Byron has delivered 6 wins this season, but looking back at his performances over past seasons, you don’t see a ton of success in Phoenix. He has had a couple of top 10 finishes on that track, but he is going to need better than that if he is to walk away a champion.

Ryan Blaney

As mentioned earlier, Blaney won last weekend in Martinsville to secure his spot in the Championship Round, but will that momentum carry over to Phoenix? Recent history suggests that it might, as this is a track where Blaney has had some real success, finishing 4th and 2nd, respectively, over the last 2 seasons. Remember, nine of these drivers actually need to win this race, they just need to finish ahead of the other 3, which makes Blaney a very solid bet here.

Christopher Bell

While Bell comes into this one as the biggest longshot of the final four, you need only look at the odds to see that the bookies are having a tough time separating these guys, as there is no clear favorite. Over the last 3 races, Bell has a win, a 2nd place finish, and a 7th, so he is certainly in good form coming into the biggest race of the season. He has finished in the top 10, albeit only just, in his last 2 races in Phoenix, so he is probably going to need a career best on that track to spring the mild upset.
