Straight Talk Wireless 400: Race Info and the 2024 season, Top 3 to Win, Final Pick – 2 Races left

There are now just 3 races remaining in the NASCAR Cup Series season, which means there are now 2 races to come in the Round of 8.

Joey Logano has already punched his ticket into the Championship Round with a win in Las Vegas last weekend, putting the pressure on the 7 remaining drivers with a shot a winning it all.

Straight Talk Wireless 400 Odds for NASCAR Race Sunday
1. Kyle Larson | 4079 points
2. Christopher Bell | 4086 points
3. Tyler Reddick | 4041 points
4. William Byron | 4071 points

My Cup Series Analysis of Straight Talk Wireless 400

The simple math tells us that with 3 open spots and 7 drivers, the pressure is very much on to nab those remaining places.

Of course, some drivers are in better shape than others in terms of accumulated points, but that can all change quickly if someone from outside the top 4 picks up a win this weekend with the running of the Straight Talk Wireless 400 at Homestead-Miami.

Let’s take a look at a few of the potential winners.

Kyle Larson +310

I think a lot of us believed that it would be Larson winning in Las Vegas last weekend, given how well he has performed on that track.

He had a real off day in that race, though, and while he is one of the drivers in good shape in the standings right now, he will want to make certain of his Championship Round spot with a win this weekend.

Larson already has 6 victories this season, so he is always a good bet to take the checkered flag in every race, he did not perform well in this race last season, but he did win it the year prior.

I think he is the man to beat this weekend, but I also think he comes up just short.

Christopher Bell +610

I’d the third time going to be the charm for Bell, who has made it to the Championship Round in each of the last 2 seasons.

Bell is also well-placed right now and has been knocking on the door over the past 2 races, finishing 2nd in both of those races.

Given that he is in good form, and won this race last season, I believe that Bell is a great choice for those of you looking to pick a winner.

He is going to be pushed hard by Larson, but I think Bell might do just enough to edge it.

Tyler Reddick +640

It was at this stage of the proceedings that Reddick bowed out of the playoffs last season, and he is in real danger of dropping out again, as he currently sits below the top 4.

It doesn’t help that his form has not been great over the past month or so, and while the bookies like his chances this weekend, I am not so sure.

He did finish 3rd in this race last season, so maybe he should not be totally counted out.

William Byron +690

Byron came storming out of the gate, winning 3 of the first 8 races this season, but he has not taken a checkered flag since.

This, though, is another guy who knows how to get the job done when it matters, as he made it all the way to the Championship Round last season, settling for 3rd overall.

He is certainly proving that he knows what it takes once again, as he has been no worse than 4th in each of the last 3 races, landing on the podium 3 times during that stretch.

Byron finished 4th in this race in 2023 and looks to be a good bet for a top 3 finish.

2023 NASCAR 4EVER 400 Preview

NASCAR Cup Series 4EVER 400 Presented by Mobil 1: We spend much of the NASCAR regular season talking about the form of each driver and their chances of winning the Cup Series Championship. NASCAR Lines | MyBookie Sportsbook

We all have an idea of who we believe will win it all in the end, but the playoffs have a way of changing those opinions. A driver who barely made it in might suddenly get hot, while those at the top of the driver standings at the start of the postseason begin to slide. We are now ever so close to finding out who will be the champion in 2023, as we are now down to the final 3 races, with the first of those coming this weekend in Miami on the Homestead track. We have one driver already in the final four but will someone else punch their ticket on Sunday afternoon. Let’s look at the current odds for the NASCAR 4EVER 400.

Kyle Larson

No driver can ever fully relax heading into a race, but Kyle Larson can certainly hit the track on Sunday with a ton of pressure lifted from his shoulders. Larson picked up the win last weekend in Las Vegas, securing his spot in the final four in the process. He is the perfect example of a driver that did not have a great regular season but who turned it on once the playoffs began. This should not be that surprising when you consider that he won it all a couple of years back and understand the pressure that the playoffs bring. Larson won this race in 2022, so he might well go out and repeat.

William Byron

Given what he has delivered to this point in his career, you have to say that this has been a surprisingly good season for Byron. That said, he did make it into the Round of 8 in 2022, falling at that hurdle and finishing 6th overall in the driver standings. He looks like a good bet to be in the final 4 this time around, though, and he might well secure that spot on the Homestead track. He won there a couple of seasons ago, but that one came in the early part of the year and not in the playoffs. Still, all things considered, he has to be seen as a potential winner here.

Denny Hamlin

Hamlin is one of those drivers that has not been at their best over the past few weeks, but he is still clinging to the #4 spot in the driver standings. He might well have done enough to secure a final 4 spot already, but he would certainly like the pressure to come off completely with a win this weekend. With just 2 victories to this point in the season, I’m not entirely convinced he gets that win here, but I would be willing to take him to land in the top 5 after a 7th place finish in Homestead last season.

Martin Truex Jr.

After thoughts of potentially retiring at the end of last season, Truex Jr. decided to take another run at the title, and it is suddenly looking like a very smart decision. He comes into this weekend sitting 3rd overall in the driver standings, but the fact of the matter is that he looks to have slowed down over the past few weeks. He might need a win to move on if this form continues, and Homestead been kind to him over the years.
