In terms of exciting events, they don’t come much better than what we are about to see in Phoenix this weekend. It’s the final weekend of the NASCAR season and we have 3 championships to be settled. We will, of course, be covering all 3 races and making predictions on who we think will win each of the 3 series. We are getting the ball rolling with the Truck Series, which will see it’s season end with the Lucas Oil 150. We are down to the final 4 drivers now, each of whom has a chance to close things out as the Truck Series Champion. We are going to take a closer look at all 4 drivers and make a NASCAR Truck Series Betting prediction as to who we think will win, so let’s get to it.
NASCAR Truck Series Betting Preview for Lucas Oil 150 Race | Motor Sports Betting
Ty Majeski
Sometimes, winning a championship is all about getting hot at exactly the right time. Majeski went through the entire regular season without picking up a win, but he has now won 2 of the last 3 playoff races to punch his ticket into the final 4. That is the kind of hot streak that leads to a title, but can he deliver the goods when it matters the most? This is the first fill season in the Truck Series for Majeski, which makes his performance that much more impressive, but since he hasn’t raced in Phoenix in this series, I have a hard time picking him to win it all.
Zane Smith
Smith has 3 wins on the season, which is tied for the most with the other 3 drivers in the final four. The problem here is that it has been a minute since he has taken a checkered flag, but that said, he has been coming close on a regular basis. Smith has been on the podium in 7 of the last 11 races, so this is a driver that cannot be counted out. This is familiar territory for Smith, as he has finished 2nd overall in each of the last 2 seasons. He is due to go one better and given that he has been solid in his last 2 runs in Phoenix, I think he finally gets the job done.
Ben Rhodes
It is very difficult to win a championship in back-to-back seasons, but Ben Rhodes has put himself in position to do just that. Rhodes was able to win the championship in 2021 despite finishing 3rd in the final race of the season in Phoenix. This season has been eerily similar to his championship run last year. In 2021, Rhodes won the opening 2 races of the season before failing to win again. He has just 1 win this season, with that one coming early. It is his consistency that has him heading into the final four, but those lack of wins might hurt.
Chandler Smith
If Chandler Smith had been in this position last season, he would have walked away as the champion, as he won the final race of the year in Phoenix. The bad news there was that he went out in the Round of 8 in 2021, but a repeat of that win this time around will see him crowned as the Truck Series champion. I still think he is going to come up a little short here, but I would not be surprised to see a lot of people play him to win.
