Over the course of a long regular season in NASCAR, the idea is to pick up as many points as possible so as to make the cut when the playoffs begin. The focus changes somewhat at that point, as winning becomes more important than ever. Yes, points are still important to help move on to the next round, but a win does that automatically. In the Xfinity Series, it is Noah Gragson who has completely taken over, as he is currently on a run, which we will get to in a moment, that tends to take drivers all the way to a championship. We are currently in the Round of 12, with 2 more races to come before the next cut, so it is all to drive for. This weekend, the drivers will be in Talladega for the Sparks 300. Let’s take a look at the current leaders in the driver standings in order for you to get ready for the race and place your bets against the NASCAR Xfinity Odds.
NASCAR Xfinity Series Betting Preview for the 2022 Sparks 300 Race
Noah Gragson
As mentioned earlier, Gragson is absolutely on fire, as he has won 4 in a row, with all those races coming in the playoffs. It is worth noting that he won the opening 2 races of the playoffs in 2021 and still ended up coming up short at the end of it all. What we are saying is that while this is indeed a great run of form, there are zero guarantees that it will lead to a championship. What is guaranteed, though, is his place in the Round of 8, which he booked with a win last weekend. The pressure is off for now, but you can be sure that Gragson will want to keep the momentum going. He finished 1st at Talladega earlier this season.
AJ Allmendinger
The NASCAR veteran is still very much in the hunt as we head into the weekend. Allmendinger has delivered a very similar performance to what we saw last year, his first full run in the Xfinity Series, where he made it all the way to the final four before coming up short in the last race of the season. While he hasn’t been winning a bunch of races of late, Allmendinger is on a run that has seen him land in the top 10 in 9 straight races. He had a podium finish at Talladega earlier this season, so expect him to be in the mix this weekend.
Ty Gibbs
After deciding to make the switch to the Xfinity Series on a full-time basis this season, a lot of people had Gibbs penciled in as a favorite to win it all. He has 5 wins on the season and is certainly looking like a good bet to move on to the Round of 8, but he has cooled off somewhat in the past couple of months. Gibbs could use a good run and will be looking to do a whole lot better than his earlier run at Talladega, where he finished near the back of the pack.
Austin Hill
This is a driver we haven’t spoken about much this season, but it might be time to start now that he has moved up to 4th in the driver standings. Hill stepped out of the truck and moved to the Xfinity Series this season, a move that appears to be paying some real dividends. He has a couple of wins to his name this season and has been on the podium in the last 2 playoff races. One to watch here, for sure.
