You have to say that this has been a stellar first full season for Heim in the Truck Series, but it’s also one that was not totally unexpected. Racing about half the schedule last year, he still managed to finish 14th overall, picking up a couple of wins along the way. As we head into the Round of 8, Heim finds himself among the leaders and in with a real shot at moving to the final round. You have to go all the way back to April to find the last time he finished worse than 8th in a race, so he has certainly been consistent, winning a couple of times along the way. He was top 10 in Bristol last season, but I think he can crack the top 5 this weekend, and perhaps even win.

Christian Eckes

The playoffs are all about getting hot at just the right time, which is what Eckes appears to be doing at the moment. He would have been in the Round of 8 regardless, but he very much cemented his position with a win last time out. In fact, he has been on the podium in all 3 playoff races this season, which definitely signals his intent to the other drivers looking to win it all. Last year, Eckes finished 8th in this race, but his current form suggests that he might be about to do a whole lot better this time around.

Grant Enfinger

In his previous 6 seasons racing in the Truck Series, Enfinger has been a consistent playoff participant, but he has made it to the final 4 just once during that stretch. He is very much in position to do it again this season, as he is currently sitting in 3rd in the driver standings as we move into the Round of 8. He already has a playoff win to his name this season and ran 4th in Bristol last year, so he is definitely a driver that could make an impact this weekend.

Carson Hocevar

After back-to-back seasons of finishing 10th overall, it is already guaranteed that Hocevar is going to have his best year as a member of the Truck Series.
