Dover Dominators: Unveiling the Top Picks for the Xfinity Series this Weekend

NASCAR Xfinity Series: BetRivers 200. Every week in NASCAR is like a new adventure in a new location, with each driver in with a shot of getting a win that will move them up the standings

Our next adventure takes us to Dover and the running of the Xfinity Series BetRivers 200, which is set to go on Saturday afternoon at 1:30 PM EST. This will be the 10th race of the season in this series and to say that things are tight at the top is perhaps putting things rather mildly. In fact, the top 3 drivers are separated by just 16 points, so there is a distinct possibility that we might see a change at the top once the race has been run. Who will that driver be? Only time will tell, but for now, we can take a quick look at some of the drivers who might well be in the conversation to win on Saturday.

Xfinity Series BetRivers 200 Odds to Win

  • Justin Allgaier +320
  • Chandler Smith +370
  • Cole Custer +550
  • Ryan Truex +610

Justin Allgaier

When you consider just how good Allgaier has been in his many years with the Xfinity Series, you have to say that his start to the 2024 season has been unexpectedly disappointing. We have yet to see him pick up a win this year, but he has done enough to stay in the top 5 in the driver standings. Last season, it took him until the 12th race of the season to get that first victory, so perhaps there is no reason to be alarmed just yet. Dover might well be the perfect place for him to turn his season around, as Allgaier has been on the podium in this race in each of the last 3 seasons.

Chandler Smith

It can often take new drivers some time to get settled into their new home, but that has not been the case for Chandler Smith. His first full season in the Xfinity Series came last year, where he finished with a very respectable 9th place overall finish, with just a single win over the course of that season. We are 9 races into the new season, and he has already surpassed that win total, winning twice already and making his way to the top of the driver standings. Smith finished 10th in Dover last season, but I would bet he finished higher this time around.

Cole Custer

The defending Xfinity Series champion comes into the 10th race of the season still looking for his first win of the year. While he may not have taken a checkered flag just yet, Custer has been in the top 10 no less than 6 times this season, picking up enough points to have him sitting in 2nd place overall. Like Allgaier, it took him a long time to get his first win last season, so it does feel like a victory is coming sooner rather than later, Custer finished 7th in this race last year.

Ryan Truex

You might look at Truex, who has raced very lightly in the Xfinity Seres, and wonder if the bookies have him in as one of the favorites due to nothing more than his family name. While he may not have raced a ton, Truex still has to be considered a threat this weekend given that he won on this track last season. His lack of races at this level still makes me nervous, but I might be willing to take a chance on Truex at these odds.

2023 Xfinity Series: A-GAME 200 Odds

The NASCAR train is set to pull into Dover this weekend for the next round of races. We are still a long way from the start of the playoffs, but it’s never too early to get points on the board and into a strong position for when the postseason does begin. This will be the 10th race of the season in the Xfinity Series, with Austin Hill currently leading the way at the top of the driver standings, winning 3 of the opening 9 races of the 2023 season. Given how good he has been this season, it is more than a little surprising that he is not up among the favorites this weekend. The bookies have released the NASCAR odds, so let’s take a look at who they like in the A-Game 200.

NASCAR Xfinity Series: A-GAME 200 | NASCAR Lines

When: Saturday, April 29 at 1:30 pm ET
Where: Dover Motor Speedway
TV / Streaming: FS1
Radio: PRN, SiriusXM

Justin Allgaier

NASCAR Xfinity Odds: +400

Given how consistent he has been in his time with the Xfinity Series, you have to say that it has been a bit of a disappointing start to the season for Allgaier. He is currently down in 6th in the driver standings and still looking for his first win of the season. Despite all of that, the bookies still have him in as the favorite to win the A-Game 200. It makes sense when you consider that he has been very good on the Dover track, winning once and landing on the podium in the other 2 races over the past 3 seasons. This might well be the weekend he breaks his 2023 goose egg.

Josh Berry

NASCAR Xfinity Odds: +400

Berry made a full-time commitment to the Xfinity Series last season, and it proved to be a good move. He made it all the way to the final four before coming up short and finishing 4th overall in the driver standings. While he has yet to win this season, Berry has been in among the leaders more often than not, landing in the top 10 in 7 of the 9 races to this point. There is reason to believe that he could get a win this weekend, as he won the corresponding race last year. I’d definitely take him to finish in the top 5.

John H. Nemechek

NASCAR Xfinity Odds: +570

At just 25 years of age, it feels as though we still have a whole lot more to come from Nemechek in his career. Winning the Xfinity Series might well prove to be a solid kickstart, and he is right up amongst it right now, sitting in 2nd overall in the driver standings. He already has a pair of wins in the 2023 season, and while Dover has not been a track that has been kind to him over the years, I would certainly be more than willing to wager him in the top 5 this weekend.

Cole Custer

NASCAR Xfinity Odds: +670

After finishing 2nd in back-to-back seasons in the Xfinity Series, it made sense for Custer to try his hand in the Cup Series. Things did not go as well as hoped, and he has made the full-time return to the Xfinity Series for this season. It has taken him a minute to get going, but he seems to have found his groove, landing in the top 5 in 3 straight races. He has been in the top 5 in his last 3 races in Dover, so certainly one to watch this weekend.
