Last week in NASCAR was a little different than what we are used to, with the Cup Series drivers taking part in the All-Star race, while the Xfinity Series drivers got the weekend off. The break is over, though, and it’s a return to action this weekend, with the Xfinity Series getting back at it with the Alsco Uniforms 300 in Charlotte. While the battle for playoff spots will continue, there will be a couple Cup Series drivers dropping in for this one, which could potentially have an impact on how things play out. It also has an impact on the NASCAR odds for this race, so let’s take a look at the current favorites.

When: Saturday, May 27 at 1:00 pm ET

TV / Streaming: FS1
Radio: PRN, SiriusXM
Ty Gibbs
NASCAR Xfinity Odds: +270
It’s a return to the Xfinity Series for Gibbs, who made the jump to the Cup Series after winning a championship last season. This will be the second time he has dropped back in, with a 3rd place finish his result in his earlier appearance this season. During his championship winning season last year, Gibbs won 7 races, and while he did not win in Charlotte, he did land in 2nd place in that one, so there is a very good reason why he is in as the favorite this weekend. Will it be a triumphant return?

Kyle Busch
NASCAR Xfinity Odds: +275
While Gibbs is currently the favorite, it should come as no real surprise that another Cup Series driver is also high on the list. Last season, Busch made 5 visits to the Xfinity Series, winning every one of those races, but things have not gone quite so well this season. He has had a pair of runs at this level in 2023, failing to win both. He finished 4th and 9th, respectively in those 2 races. Still, given his experience, there is no way he should be counted out when running in the Xfinity Series.

John H. Nemechek
NASCAR Xfinity Odds: +490
Now that we have the Cup Series drivers out of the way, we now get to the portion of the favorites where we have the Xfinity Series drivers coming into play. Nemechek comes into this weekend with the lead in the driver standings, although it is still incredibly tight at the top. Nemechek already has a pair of wins this season and has only fallen outside the top 10 in 2 of the 11 races we’ve had thus far. You have to go back to 2019 to find the last time he raced on this track. He finished 12th in that race, but he is much stronger now than he was then.

Justin Allgaier
NASCAR Xfinity Odds: +510
Given how successful Allgaier has been at this level, you have to say that it’s a little surprising that Allgaier is still looking for his first win of the 2023 season. While he may not have taken a checkered flag just yet, he has been close, landing on the podium 5 times already. He is long overdue for a win, but given that we have a couple of Cup Series drivers taking part in this race, it might be the smarter move to wager Allgaier to finish in the top 5.
