William Byron
Byron raced for one full season in the Xfinity Series in 2017, winning it all before making the jump to the Cup Series. The last couple of years there have been very good indeed, with Byron finishing 3rd overall in 2023 before getting this season off to a winning start by taking the checkered flag at the Daytona 500. All of that makes him an obvious favorite for this race, although when Cup Series drivers drop down to a lower level, it isn’t always necessarily about winning. Mind you, their competitive nature tends to kick into high gear once the race begins.

John H. Nemechek
Nemechek has been busy in the early going of the season, racing in all 3 races in both the Cup and Xfinity Series. While he has been a little up and down in the Cup Series, he has had some success at this level, winning his first race of the season last weekend in Las Vegas. The question now is whether he can make it 2 in a row in Phoenix. He might well be coming into this one with a bit of a chip on his shoulder after a poor run in the final race of last season, which was held on this track, when he had a chance to win the championship. I would certainly not count him out here.

Cole Custer
The defending Xfinity Series champion saw his season get off to a bit of a slow start through the opening 2 weeks of the season, but he showed that he is not ready to give up his crown last weekend with a 2nd place finish in Las Vegas. Will that be the run that jumps starts his season? Only time will tell, but it should be noted that this was the track he won on in the final race of the season in 2023 to win his championship. Over the years, this track has been good to him, so a top 5 finish seems like a solid bet.

Justin Allgaier
We have mentioned this countless times in the past, but Allgaier is one of those drivers who is insanely consistent at this level, albeit without ever winning a championship. It tends to take him a moment to move into high gear, with his first win of last season coming in the 12th race of the season. That little stat might make me nervous about playing him to win this weekend, as well as the fact that one of the reasons why he hasn’t won a championship is because he has been unable to win the final race of the season in Phoenix. Top 5 or 10 might be the way to go with Allgaier this weekend.

NASCAR Xfinity Series: Call811.com Before You Dig. 250
NASCAR is always on the move throughout the season, with the drivers heading to Martinsville for a full weekend of action. The season is now very much in full swing, although it is still in the early stages of things. That said, we do have a rather clear favorite emerging in the early going, with Austin Hill looking pretty dominant to this point. Again, there are a lot of races to come, and we tend to see drivers go hot and cold for stretches over the course of a long season. Whether Hill can maintain his torrid start remains to be seen, especially since it is still quite tight at the top. That’s a conversation for later, though, as out focus right now is the Call811.com Before You Dig 250 this weekend. Let’s take a look the NASCAR betting analysis at some of the favorites.

Austin Hill
Hill got the new season, just his 2nd as a full-time Xfinity Series driver, off to an amazing start, winning 3 of the opening 5 races. Given that he finished 6th overall last year, there was always the feeling that he would be in the hunt in 2023, but I’, not so sure anyone expected what he has already delivered. That said, he has cooled off over the last couple of race, although a top 10 finish last weekend might be a sign that he is ready to hit again. He ran 4th and 9th, respectively, in 2 races on the Martinsville track last season, so expect him to be among the leaders.
Riley Herbst
If you are betting on Herbst to win, you are certainly taking a bit of a chance given that he has yet to take a checkered flag through 3 full seasons in the Xfinity Series. He has been knocking on the door, though, and has been consistent all season long, finishing in the top 10 in 6 of the 7 races run to this point. He is definitely more of a top 5 pick than a potential outright winner, although you do get the sense that his first win is coming sooner rather than later. He had a podium finish in his last run in Martinsville.
John H. Nemecheck
Nemechek made a full-time return to the Xfinity Series this season, which is proving to be a smart decision. He already has a win under his belt, as well as a couple of 2nd place finishes, all of which has him sitting 3rd overall in the driver standings. Given that he did not race in Martinsville in 2022, it’s tough to know what to expect from him this weekend, although his start to the season suggests that he will be in the mix. I might play it a little safer by taking him to finish in the top 5.
Chandler Smith
It has been an outstanding start to the season for Smith, who is racing in his first full season with the Xfinity Series. That start was capped by his first win, which came at Richmond last weekend, propelling him into the top 4 in the driver standings. He has been in the top 5 in 3 other races this year, so definitely a driver worth taking a look at when it comes time to wager.
