The end of the regular season in the Xfinity Series is now very much in sight, with just 8 races remaining before the field is cut to 12 drivers.
That is still plenty of time for the standings to change, but for the guys sitting down near the cut line, the pressure is beginning to mount.

My NASCAR Xfinity Series Analysis
They will all get a shot at picking up some more valuable points this weekend when the Xfinity Series takes to the Pocono track for the running of the Pocono Mountains 225.
The Xfinity odds for this race have been released by MyBookie Sportsbook and there are some very familiar names at the top of the bookies board.
Let’s take a quick look at some of the guys who should be in the hunt and where they might finish.
^William Byron Xfinity Series Pick +360
Whenever you get a driver dropping in from the Cup Series, it always has an impact on the overall odds.
Byron is going to take a run on the Pocono track on Saturday before going at it again on Sunday in the Cup Series.
William is having a very good season up among the big boys in NASCAR, but will that translate to a win in the Xfinity Series on Saturday?
While he will certainly get a lot of the betting money, it is worth noting that he has raced at this level twice already this season, failing to crack the top 10 in both races, so he may not be a slam dunk.
^Justin Allgaier Xfinity Series Pick +460
When you look back at how consistently good Allgaier has been in his time with the Xfinity Series, it is probably surprising to see that he doesn’t necessarily win a lot of races.
4 wins in a single season is his personal best, so it is perhaps not that surprising that he only has 1 win this year.
This is a driver that is always one to look at for a top 3 or top 5 finish, though, as he has made a habit of being up among the leaders.
Given his previous runs on this track, I’m not so sure that a top 3 is the way to go, but I certainly see him in the top 10.
^Custer Cole Xfinity Series Pick +550
When you get to the playoffs, wins become a good deal more important than they are in the regular season.
The reality, though, is that you can be high in the driver standings in the regular season without winning, with Cole Custer being the perfect example.
He is sitting in the #1 spot this season, despite still looking for his first victory of the year.
The defending champion had 2 wins by this stage of the proceedings last season, so while he is at the top, he is off the pace.
With that in mind, a top 10 finish looks most likely for Custer.
^Sam Mayer Xfinity Series Pick +660
Okay, so I have to make a pick to win this race on Saturday, which is never an easy thing to do, but I am going with Mayer.
He has not been in the best of form over the last 3 races, cracking the top 10 just once, and only by the skin of his teeth.
Sam has proven that he can win, though, with a pair of checkered flags to his name this season.
When you consider that he finished 2nd on this track last season, I think this might be where he snaps out of his slump.

2023 Pocono 225
Slowly but surely, we are moving closer to the end of the regular season and the start of the playoffs. That said, there are 8 races still to come in the Xfinity Series regular season, so there is still plenty of time for the current top 12 to change before we get to the postseason. Tougher still for those on the outside looking in is that some of the drivers in the top 12 are essentially assured of a spot in the playoffs, so that window of opportunity is going to get smaller with each passing race. This weekend, the Xfinity Series drivers will be heading to the Pocono Raceway for the Explore the Pocono Mountains 225, so let’s take a look at the current Xfinity odds for this race.

Chase Elliott
NASCAR Xfinity Odds: +226
As is generally always the case when a Cup Series driver pays a visit, the bookies install them as a favorite. That is the case this weekend, with Chase Elliott dropping into the Xfinity Series ahead of his race with the Cup Series. He is in a tough position right now after missing 7 weeks through injury and suspension. He is not guaranteed to make the playoffs this season, so running with the Xfinity Series this weekend is good preparation for the bigger challenges to come. This is not a move that he makes very often, and over the last 4 seasons, Elliott has raced in the Xfinity Series 11 times and has failed to win each time.
Justin Allgaier
NASCAR Xfinity Odds: +450
While Allgaier is in his usual spot in the driver standings, which is near the top, he has not made a habit of winning races this season. In fact, he has just 1 win right now, but that doesn’t mean he hasn’t been good. Besides the win, Allgaier also has 7 other podium finishes on the season, so this is a driver that you should never count on when looking at wagering on the Xfinity Series. He finished 7th in this race in 2022, but I think we can expect better this time around, so a top 5 wager might not be a bad idea.
John H. Nemechek
NASCAR Xfinity Odds: +460
If you are interested in betting on the hot hand in the Xfinity Series, then you need to give a serious look at Nemechek this weekend. He has won each of the last 2 races, and he was 2nd in the race prior to those victories. In fact, he has been in great form all season long, finishing in the top 10 in 15 of the 18 races to this point in the season. At this stage of the proceedings, he looks like the man to beat, although we have seen drivers suddenly cold once things get closer to the postseason. Still, he is the favorite in my mind this weekend, regardless of the odds.
Cole Custer
NASCAR Xfinity Odds: +760
After a spell with the Cup Series, Custer is back full-time with the Xfinity Series, and he is making the most of his return. Custer is sitting 3rd overall after 18 races this season, with a pair of wins already under his belt. He did not have a good run in New Hampshire in the previous race, so he will be looking for a bounce back performance this weekend. He raced a few times at this level last season, including a run at Pocono, where he finished 10th overall.
