NBA 2020 Rumors & Betting News December 17th Edition

Written by on December 17, 2020

Okay MyBookie NBA fanatics and betting buffs, with the start of the 2020-21 regular season almost here, it’s time to take another look at the latest rumors making the rounds across the league’s landscape. While may of the trade and free agency rumors have dried up following an active offseason that saw a bunch of player movement, there are still several rumors going around and no – they don’t involve the disgruntled James Harden! Let’s get started so you can continue placing your bets against their NBA odds.

Latest NBA News and Rumors Out There

Antetokounmpo Wanted Beal As Sidekick

While the Milwaukee Bucks were successful in signing two-time reigning league MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo to a 5-year supermax extension, a recent rumor says Milwaukee’s franchise cornerstone reportedly wanted Milwaukee to try to add Washington Wizards superstar shooting guard Bradley Beal during the flurry of offseason moves.

While Antetokounmpo, who also lobbied for the Bucks to acquire sweet-shooting Bogdan Bogdanovic, didn’t get to see his hopes for either addition come true, he still has faith that Milwaukee is heading in the right direction, hence his signing of his epic five-year deal.

Lakers Going After Hield?

A recent rumor says the defending champion Los Angeles Lakers are interested in acquiring disgruntled Sacramento Kings shooting guard Buddy Hield in exchange for Kyle Kuzma, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope and Alex Caruso. Hield, who has three years remaining on his current deal and is due to make $24.4 million this season, is said to not like head coach Luke Walton very much after his benching last season. Sacramento drafted a big-time perimeter talent in Tyrese Haliburton and the additions of KCP and Caruso would definitely soften the blow of losing Hield. As a matter of fact, I think the Lakers are offering too much for Hield, but hey, that’s just me.

Vogel to Schroeder: Pump Your Brakes

While veteran point guard Dennis Schroeder is an underrated stud that has already gone on record as saying he wants to start alongside LeBron James and Anthony Davis, Lakers head coach Frank Vogel has recently said the eight-year veteran might not get his wish depending on what’s best for LA. Sounds strange to me seeing as how Schroeder is clearly the best floor leader on the Lakers roster, so stay tuned for more news on this!

Orlando Exercises Team Option on Mo Bamba

The Orlando Magic have exercised their fourth-year team option on center Mo Bamba, linking him to the franchise through the 2021-22 season.

Holiday to Get Max Deal?

Another recent rumor making the rounds is that the Milwaukee Bucks are going to sign veteran combo guard Jrue Holiday to a max extension after acquiring him to please Giannis Antetokounmpo and help improve their chances of reaching and winning and NBA title. The Bucks acquired Holiday from the New Orleans Pelicans in a late November four-team trade that also featured the Denver Nuggets and Oklahoma City Thunder.

Jeremy Lin scrimmaging with G League Ignite

Former NBA veteran Jeremy Lin is hoping to land with some team this coming season. Lin is currently suiting up for Ignite in the G League. The squad, which is unaffiliated and made up of top high school recruits. The 32-year-old Lin last suited up for the Toronto Raptors down the stretch of the 2018-19 campaign, resulting in his first title win. I personally don’t understand why he’s not already on someone’s NBA roster, but we will see what happens moving forward.
