When you head to Las Vegas, you hope that Lady Luck is on your side, and the Cincinnati Bengals need their luck to change. After holding the #1 seed in the AFC Playoffs just a few weeks ago, things have seemed to take a wrong turn for the Bengals, and now they’re fighting for their playoff lives. They’ll head to Sin City to take on a team that has had a few struggles of its own in the Las Vegas Raiders. Both of these teams know that the AFC playoff race is very tight, and a loss could be huge at this time of the season. We’ll see which team can take the victory and get a little closer to earning a playoff berth. That being said, let’s jump right into action so you can get ready to bet against the NFL Betting Odds.
NFL Betting Preview for Cincinnati Bengals at Las Vegas
Cincinnati Bengals Betting Analysis
After losing 41-16 to the Cleveland Browns prior to their bye week, the Bengals are hoping that the week off to regroup will get them back into a winning state of mind. Joe Burrow has had an outstanding year for the Bengals, but other than star rookie wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase, the Bengals haven’t had any other offensive players step up to take a larger role in the offense.
Cincinnati has put a lot of effort into improving their defense, and it has looked a lot better this season. They’re giving up just over 22 points per game, which is a vast improvement over years past. Their pass rush has gotten better, but they’ve been unable to make some key stops this season. We’ll see if they’re able to take care of an inconsistent Las Vegas Raiders offense.
Las Vegas Raiders Betting Analysis
What a season this has been for the Las Vegas Raiders. Not only has the product on the field had its ups and downs, but there have been numerous off-field issues that have plagued this franchise. With the Henry Ruggs III DUI arrest and the resignation of Jon Gruden after his email scandal, the Raiders have gone through their fair share of turmoil already this season.
Derek Carr has tried to lead his team through all of the issues, and he’s had a very good season thus far. Carr has thrown for over 2800 yards with 15 touchdowns. Other than Darren Waller, Carr doesn’t have any big-name targets to throw to. Running back Josh Jacobs has been very good when he has played, but he has missed a lot of time due to injuries. If the Raiders could ever find some consistency in their offense, they could be a pretty good unit.
As has been the case over the past few seasons, the Raiders’ defense has been its weak link. They’ve given up too many points, and they just haven’t been able to get key stops. Their pass rush is average at best, and they haven’t been a very good run defense. We’ll see how they try to stop the Burrow to Chase connection that has been so good this season.
Prediction
The Cincinnati Bengals are road favorites in this one, as the Las Vegas oddsmakers have made their home team a one-point underdog. We’re going to agree with the oddsmakers and we’re going with the Bengals to win this one with a late field goal.
