Although the Chicago Bears are 3-11 this season, Bears fans now have something to look forward to. With the emergence of Justin Fields, Bears fans know that the team now has their quarterback of the future. With his ability to run the ball, along with his ever-improving passing, Fields could eventually be one of the top QBs in the league.
The Buffalo Bills are 11-3 and are looking to finally win an AFC title and advance to the Super Bowl. Led by Josh Allen, the offense is one of the top offenses in the league. Defensively, the Bills haven’t been playing as well as they had early in the season, but the defense is still doing just enough to help the team win.
The Chicago Bears will host the Buffalo Bills on Christmas Eve. Both teams are hoping that Santa Clause comes early and gifts them with a victory. Let’s take a look at each of the two participants in this one, and then we’ll give you our NFL Betting prediction.
Will Santa Bring an Early Present to the Chicago Bears? | NFL Betting Preview for Buffalo Bills at Chicago
Buffalo Bills
Josh Allen is one of the most dynamic players in the league. He leads a strong Buffalo offense that can score points in bunches. Allen has some great receiving weapons in the way of Stefon Diggs, Gabriel Davis, and Dawson Knox.
They also average over 130 yards rushing per game. Buffalo scores over 27 points per game, so the Bills can take it to anyone.
Defensively, the Bills have slipped throughout the season. Even though they aren’t playing as well as of late, this unit still gives up an average of 17 points per game. The Bills’ defense will have to have a good plan in order to slow down Fields and the Bears’ rushing attack.
Chicago Bears
The Bears have struggled this season, but for the first time in a long time, the team now has their franchise quarterback. Fields is one of the best-running QBs in the game, and he has greatly improved his passing accuracy. Once the Bears get a better surrounding cast, Fields will be one of the league’s best players.
Defensively, the Bears are a mess up front. With numerous injuries, the Bears’ front four have been a wreck all season. The Bears struggle to stop the run, and they also have issues putting pressure on the opposition’s quarterback.
We’ll see if they have what it takes to slow Allen and the Buffalo offense down. Chicago’s defense is the 30th-ranked defense in the league, giving up nearly 26 points per game.
Prediction
The oddsmakers have spoken, and the Bills are favored to win by nine points. Even when the Bears have been thoroughly overmatched, they’ve still played well, and the opposition narrowly escaped with a victory.
We’ll see if the Bears can do it again and keep this game close. This game will be played in horrible weather conditions. The wind is predicted to be blowing between 30-40 mph, and temperatures with the wind chill will be well below zero. Both teams will have to rely on their running games.
The Bills will win this one, but we don’t think that they’ll cover the nine-point spread.
