Just a few weeks ago, many were ready to anoint the Los Angeles Chargers as one of the next great AFC teams. After losing two straight, the Chargers faithful has taken a step back.
We’ll see if the Chargers can get back on the winning track, as they’ll head across the country to the City of Brotherly Love for a matchup with the Philadelphia Eagles. Lincoln Financial Field hasn’t been kind to the Eagles this season as they are 0-3 on their home turf this season. With that being said, it’s time we take a look at NFL Betting analysis for the upcoming match between Chargers and Eagles.
NFL Betting Preview for Los Angeles Chargers vs Philadelphia Eagles
Los Angeles Chargers Betting Analysis
Justin Herbert has taken the NFL by storm in his short tenure in the league. This season, he has thrown for just under 2000 yards with 16 touchdowns. Mike Williams and Keenan Allen have been the beneficiaries of Herbert’s great play.
They have combined for 1013 receiving yards and ten touchdowns. Austin Ekeler has done it all in the backfield. He has rushed for 420 yards with five touchdowns, and he’s also been a very good pass-catching option out of the backfield.
The Chargers defense will be looking for redemption after a poor game last weekend in their loss to the New England Patriots. The Los Angeles defense is giving up 326 yards of offense per game while surrendering just over 25 points per contest. We’ll see if they can play better this Sunday.
Philadelphia Eagles Betting Analysis
The Eagles are 3-5 on the season and are sitting in second place in the NFC East. Jalen Hurts has been the main topic of discussion in Philadelphia this season. His inconsistent play has been the topic of main discussions. Hurts has thrown for over 1800 yards with ten touchdowns.
Hurts is also the Eagles leading rusher with 432 yards on the ground with five touchdowns. He hasn’t had much help in the running game, as Miles Sanders has yet to get things going this season.
The Eagles’ defense has been better than it has been in years past, but it’s still not where the Philadelphia faithful want it to be. The Eagles are giving up an average of 344 yards per game while allowing the opponents to score nearly 25 points per contest. They played well last week in their 44-6 demolition of a weak Detroit Lions team.
Prediction
The Chargers will travel across the country and still be favored. They have been made a 2.5 point favorite by the Las Vegas oddsmakers. In looking at all of the betting statistics, the numbers tend to favor the Los Angeles Chargers.
Los Angeles is 8-3 against the spread in their last 11 games. They are also 4-1 against the spread in their last five games on the road. While the Eagles are 5-2 against the spread in their last seven games at Lincoln Financial Field, they’re also just 3-7 against the spread in their last 10 November contests.
The Chargers are due to break out of their slump. We think this will be a tight one, but Los Angeles will come away with the victory and will extend Philadelphia’s home woes. The Chargers win 27-24 and just barely cover the 2.5-point spread.
