Soccer Betting Analysis for Men’s Olympic Soccer Tournament July 28 Matches

Wednesday, July 28th Matches

  • Ivory Coast / Germany

After a brutal 4-2 loss to Brazil in their first Olympic match, the Germans bounced back with a fantastic 3-2 win over Saudi Arabia in their second contest. Germany could fall flat in their third match, though. The Ivory Coast beat Saudi Arabia in their first match. They drew 0-0 with Brazil in their second. The Ivory Coast looks like a solid play.

Soccer Pick: Ivory Coast

  • Brazil / Saudi Arabia

In a couple of Olympic matches, Saudi Arabia is 0-2. The underdog in this has lost to the Ivory Coast and Germany. Don’t expect Saudi Arabia to pick it up versus Brazil. Although Brazil drew with the Ivory Coast in their last, they remain the team to beat at the Tokyo Games.

Soccer Pick: Brazil

  • New Zealand / Romania

In their first match, Romania looked great. The Romanians beat Honduras 1-0. Things fell apart in the Romanian’s second match. South Korea blasted Romania 4-0. New Zealand fell to Honduras but upset South Korea. This has the look of a draw.

Soccer Pick: Draw

  • Honduras / South Korea

Honduras is a decent team. They lost to Romania in their first Olympic contest before upsetting New Zealand in their second. But South Korea has the look of a gold medal winner. Even though South Korea struggled against New Zealand, they absolutely dominated the Romanians 4-0. It should be difficult for Honduras to score 3 goals against the South Korean defense. If there’s a handicap, consider backing South Korea at -1 ½.

Soccer Pick: South Korea

  • Egypt / Australia

After a couple of matches, Australia has a win and a loss while Egypt has a draw and a loss. Neither one of these squads has shown a willingness to push the attack. Egypt should have a decent shot for the victory, though. So if you want to back a team on the moneyline, make it the Egyptians.

Soccer Pick: Egypt

  • Argentina / Spain

Spain drew with Egypt in their first match. They beat Australia in their second. Spain should have a big advantage since La Liga players are allowed to join the Spanish National Team. But Argentina looked great in their last, a 1-0 victory over Egypt. The Argentinians get the nod.

Soccer Pick: Argentina

  • Japan / France

On July 22, in their first Olympic match, France disappointed. Mexico blasted France 4-1. The French bounced back with a 4-3 victory over South Africa. Japan, though, is 2-0 in a couple of Olympic contests. Beating Mexico 2-1 in their second match is huge. The host nation looks strong.

Soccer Pick: Japan

  • Mexico / South Africa

Mexico looked great when dusting France in their first match. The loss to Japan probably surprised the Mexican side. Mexico won’t allow a team like South Africa to knock them from a march to the knockout stage. Give Mexico a chance to win this on the handicap and moneyline at what should be chalky odds.

Soccer Pick: Mexico
