When you see a ONE event listed, you know that you are going to get a little bit of everything, and this one is certainly no different. If you are an Amazon Prime subscriber, you can tune into the event on Friday night starting at 8 PM EST. There is a lot going on here, including a pair of title fights to look forward to. Let’s jump into the 7-fight main card to see if we can nail down some MMA winning picks.
ONE Fight Night 8: Superlek vs. Rodtang | MMA Lines
When: Friday 03.24.2023 at 08:00 PM ET
Where: Singapore Indoor Stadium, Singapore
TV / Streaming: Amazon Prime
Alex Silva Vs Keito Yamakita
We start out with a Flyweight MMA bout and one fighter looking to hold on to a perfect record. Silva is 12-8 over and in a bit of a rough patch after losing 2 of his last 3 fights. No such issues for Yamakita, though, as he is out to a 7-0 start as a pro fighter. I think he keeps that run alive, but he may need to go all the way to do it.
Danial Williams Vs Rui Botelho
We jump from MMA to Muay Thai for the next bout, which is in the Flyweight division. Williams is making the move to Muay Thai for this one, but will that hurt him? Tough to tell, especially since Botelho is sitting at 0-4 fighting in this style. This is a tough one to call, but I am leaning toward Williams for the win.
Peimian Zhang Vs Torepchi Dogak
It’s another change in style here, as we head into kickboxing territory. Zhang is coming off a loss in his last bout after winning his first 2 fights as a pro. He may not have fought much, but he has the experience edge on Dogak, who is entering his first pro fight. I think that slight edge in experience might put Zhang over the top.
Ho Take Oh Vs Akbar Abdullaev
It’s back to MMA action for what looks to be a fantastic Lightweight matchup. Oh is 9-2-1 overall and has been in fantastic form, winning each of his last 7 fights. He is in tough here, though, as Abdullaev comes into this bout with a perfect 8-0 record under his belt. I think it will be Oh who grinds out the decision win.
Seo Hee Ham Vs Itsuki Hirata
Will experience play a role in this women’s Strawweight bout? Ham certainly has a ton of experience to draw upon, as she comes in on an 8-fight win streak that has her at 25-8 overall. Hirata is no slouch, though, sitting at 6-1, including a 5-1 record under the ONE banner. Ham is just that bit better and should get the win.
Allycia Hellen Rodrigues Vs Janet Todd
The co-main event of the night is for the Muay Thai women’s Strawweight Championship. Rodrigues is the champion after taking out Stamp Fairtex to win the belt. Todd is certainly a worthy challenger, though, and is coming into this bout on a 4-fight win streak. Always tough to beat the champion, so I’m on Rodrigues to win.
Superlek Kiatmoo Vs Rodtang Jitmuangnon
We close out the main card by switching back to Kickboxing for the Bantamweight Championship. Superlek is the defending champion, winning the tournament before going on and taking the belt in his last fight. Jitmuangnon is going to be a tough opponent, though, and I think we might see this one go all the way, with the champ retaining the belt.
I have read enough, I need to place my bet now. What to do?
