PFL Challenger Series: Week 7 Betting Picks & Analysis for this Week's Fights

PFL Challenger Series: Week 7 Betting Picks & Analysis for this Week’s Fights

It’s later in the week than usual, but Week 7 of the PFL Challenger Series is set to go on Friday night at 9 PM EST. For those of you unfamiliar with this series, let’s take a moment to quickly break it down. Each week, we see a different set of fighters from a specific weight class go head-to-head, with the goal each week being to put on a show and hopefully land a PFL contract. Those who do will head into the main tournament, which comes later in the year, for a shot at winning a cool million dollar prize. There is a ton of pressure on these fighters, but we have already seen 6 of them win their shot at future glory. This Friday, it is the Light Heavyweights stepping into the octagon, so let’s see if we can break down the PFL Challenger Series odds, all 4 fights and make some predictions.

MMA Betting Preview and Picks for the 2023 PFL Week 7 Bouts

When: Friday, March 10
Where: Universal Studios, Orlando FL

Time: 9 PM ET
Streaming: fuboTV

Monte Deon Obgonna-Morrison Vs Roland Dunlap

We get started with a pair of fighters still pretty new to the pro game, with both of these guys coming into put their unbeaten records on the line. Ogbonna-Morrison is 3-0 and has looked good thus far, winning all of those bouts inside the distance. Dunlap has the same 3-0 record as a pro, although he has had to work a little harder to get those wins. Always tough to predict these types of fights, but I am taking Ogbonna-Morrison for the KO win.

Tristan Overvig Vs Billy Elekana

Again, we have a pair of fighter still in the very early stages of their career, but unlike the first bout, both of these guys have lost. For Overvig, that defeat came a few bouts ago. Since that loss, he has bounced back to win 3 in a row and move to 5-1. Elekana has a similar record at 4-1, but he will be looking to get back to winning ways after losing last time out. I like Overvig to get the win via submission.

Taylor Johnson Vs Trey Williams

This one is a little different in that we have more experience on show here, but both fighters have been a little up and down. Johnson comes in with a respectable record of 8-3, but of late, he has found it tough to stay consistent, going 3-2 in his last 5. It is much the same story for Williams, as he is 6-3 and has the same 3-2 record in his last 5. I think it will be Johnson who does just enough to get the decision.

Impa Kasanganay Vs Osama Elsaidy

We close the night out with the main event, which is a bout that seems highly unlikely to go the distance. Kasanganay is 10-3 overall, and while that is a decent enough record, we should mention that those 3 losses have come in his last 5 fights. He will have his hands full with Elsaidy, who is 82, but who, like his opponent, has seen his losses come in recent fights. I like Kasanganay to come away with the KO win.
