Euro Group Stage Gurus

While some groups boast clear favorites like Germany in Group A, others present a more balanced picture. Analyzing Euro betting odds goes beyond just team strength.

Factors like recent form, head-to-head matchups, and potential injuries can all influence the outcome of the group stage.

Understanding these elements can help you identify potential value picks and craft informed wagers.

The 2024 Euro Cup kicks off on June 14 when Germany takes on Scotland. Host nation Germany is the favorite to win Group A.

England, France, and Spain are all favorites to win their groups.

2024 UEFA Euro Cup Group Predictions

Group A – Germany -295

Switzerland often plays well in international competitions.

But although the Swiss will make things tough on Germany, it’s difficult to look past the host nation to win Group A.

Germany is much deeper than the Swiss, the Hungarians, and Scotland.

Give Germany the nod to move to the knockout stage after scoring 3 wins.

Group B – Spain -129

Group B is deep.

The reigning Euro champs, Italy, drew into Group B.

So did Croatia, which like Switzerland, always steps it up in international competitions.

No team in Group B, though, possesses the talent that Spain has.

Alvaro Morata, Ferran Torres, teenage sensation Lamine Yamal, Pedri, and Rodri make Spain the Group B winner.

Group C – England -260

At -260, England is an overlay to win Group C.

Slovenia, Denmark, and Serbia are quality soccer teams.

But England is the deepest and most talented squad at the 2024 Euro Cup.

Harry Kane, Bayakoa Saka, Phil Foden, Jack Grealish, and the best player in the world right now, Jude Bellingham, will ensure that the English win their group.

Group D – Netherlands +300

No doubt, Group D is the toughest to handicap.

Kylian Mbappe, Olivier Giroud and France are the favorites.

Siding with the Netherlands to upset the French makes sense because the Netherlands boast a couple of young and up and coming stars in Ryan Gravenberch and Xavi Simons.

Austria and Poland are also in this group.

So taking a shot on the higher priced team among the chalks, that’s the Dutch, is the way to go.

Group E – Belgium -250

Kevin De Bruyne and his mates should have no trouble beating Slovakia, Romania, and Ukraine and winning Group E.

Belgium got a lucky draw.

No team in their group should have a chance versus De Bruyne and his mates.

Group F – Portugal -250

Turkey is a rising international soccer team.

Czechia is always tough and Georgia is underrated.

But none of those teams match up with Bruno Fernandes led Portugal.

The Portuguese can play Ronaldo in spots and they’d still win Group F.

Diogo Jota, Goncalo Ramos, Jao Felix and Rafael Leao are good enough to support Fernandes in his quest to bring Portugal a Euro Cup title.

UEFA Euro 2020 Group Stage Betting Update

Previous Betting News

After the first full week of EURO 2020 group stage play, there’s plenty to talk about. Denmark’s best player suffered an injury that sealed the Danes fate before they got started, the Germans looked terrible one moment and then like a EURO 2020 winner the next, and the Italians are rocking it. Check out what’s been happening in this summer’s most important soccer tournament so you can keep betting against their Euro Cup odds.

Recap of the EURO 2020 Group Stage Games So Far

UEFA Euro Cup 2020

When: June 11, 2021 – July 11, 2021

Euro 2020 Odds

After Eriksen injury, Denmark’s Euro chances go up in flames

Heading into EURO 2020, Denmark looked like the tournament’s best underdog play. The Danes had beaten Austria 4-0 in a World Cup Qualifier, drawn 1-1 with Germany, and dumped Bosnia & Herzegovina 2-0 in a friendly.

Things looked good for Denmark until Christian Eriksen collapsed to the ground. Eriksen’s heart stopped. Paramedics revived the Inter Milan midfielder, but the damage had been done.

Try as they might, the Danes couldn’t hang with a team that under normal circumstances they probably would have dominated. Finland beat Denmark 1-0.

A subsequent 1-2 loss to Belgium on June 17 has all but ended Denmark’s dream of making the knockout stage. It’s a shame, but Eriksen is okay, which, ask any Denmark player or fan, is what’s most important.

Germany makes statement versus Portugal

In their first match against France, the Germans looked atrocious. The usual German machine didn’t seem to have it.

Mats Hummels, whom many regard as Deutschland’s top player, scored the goal against his own team that put France ahead. From there, the French cruised to a 1-0 victory.

In their second EURO 2020 match, after just 15 minutes, Ronaldo had already scored for Portugal. But Germany rallied to blitz Portugal 4-2.

The Germans take on the Hungarians in their next match. Unless Hungary does something special, Germany should win, which means Deutschland will stamp their ticket to the knockout stage.

Italy dominating, France and Spain playing below their talent levels

In Italy’s third match, Wales hung tough. It took the Italians until the thirty-ninth minute to score a goal against Wales.

But make no mistake, even though Italy didn’t destroy Wales by 2 to 3 goals, they remain the team to beat at this UEFA European Championships.

The Italians scorched Turkey 3-0 before dominating Switzerland 2-0. The 1-0 victory against Wales could have been by more, but Italy decided to leave something in the tank.

The Azurri’s performance is in sharp contrast to Spain’s and France’s. The French struggled to draw with Hungary in their first match.

If not for Hummels’ bone-headed own goal, France may have dropped their match versus Germany. But as badly as France has played, no team has disappointed as much as Spain.

The Spanish are 2 points behind Sweden and a point behind Slovakia in Group E. Spain drew against Spain and drew against Poland. If Spain doesn’t beat Slovakia, they’ll have to ready themselves for a long trip home.
