EURO Cup Round of 16 Games on Tuesday: We are halfway through the Round of 16 games at the 2024 European Championships, and while some might suggest that Switzerland beating Italy was a surprise, the other games essentially went as expected.

The Germans rode their luck a little to get a 2-0 win over Denmark, while England needed a late, late goal and extra time to get past Slovakia in a 2-1 win.

My Analysis

In the final set of games over the last couple of days, Spain made it look easy with a 4-1 win over Georgia after going a goal down.

As we said, there are now 4 more games to come, the first 2 of which will come on Monday.

I think France and Portugal will move on in those games, but let’s jump ahead and look at what’s coming on Tuesday.

Romania +640 vs Netherlands -238

Group E proved to be one of the most interesting of the bunch, with each team in the group finishing on 4 points.

It was Romania who, thank sot tiebreakers, finished on top, but they have to now try and find a way to get back into some sort of decent form.

They opened things up with an outstanding 3-0 win over Romania, but they lost to Belgium in their second game and needed something from Game 3 to be sure of a spot in the Round of 16. They got that with a 1-1 draw with Slovakia, allowing them to finish top of the group.

You have to go back to 2007 to find the last time Romania beat the Netherlands, and they have lost 4 times to the Dutch since then.

The Netherlands had to settle for one of the top 3rd place finishes making it to this stage of the proceedings.

They struggled somewhat in their opening game against Slovakia, needing a late goal to win 2-1 after going a goal down in the first half.

The “Orange Holland Clockwork”, followed that up with a 0-0 draw against Belgium before losing 3-2 in a thriller against Austria.

The Netherlands have had the best of this matchup in the past, but I think this one will be tight and might need extra time.

Austria -105 vs Turkey +310

You could make a very good argument that Austria has been the best team to watch in this tournament.

Austria have played some great attacking football and are just very easy on the eye. They were a little unlucky to get nothing out of their opening game, which was a 1-0 loss to France.

The pressure was very much on after that loss, but they rose above it in a 3-1 win over Poland. They still needed something from their final game to move on, which they got with a brilliant 3-2 win over the Netherlands.

Turkey saw their tournament get off to a perfect start with a dominating 3-1 win over Georgia in their opening group stage game.

They were then seriously outclassed in a 3-0 loss to Portugal in their 2nd game, but they bounced back quickly, taking out Czechia 2-1 to nab the 2nd place spot in the group.

I think we are going to see some offense in what should be a fun one to watch, but I am on Austria to come away with the win.
