Boxing Events: All Eyes On Fury vs. Paul for the WBC Cruiserweight Title
- When: Sunday, Feb. 26 at 2:00 pm ET
- Where: Riyadh, Saudi Arabia
- TV/Streaming: ESPN/PPV
Ilunga Makabu -208 vs. Badou Jack +148
Before Paul and Fury throw down, Badou Jack takes on Ilunga Makabu for the WBC Cruiserweight title. Makabu has the better record, which explains why he’s attracting the most action.
Ilunga is 29-2 with 25 stoppage wins. But Ilunga has yet to fight someone on Jack’s level. Badou is 27-3-3 and heads into this off 5 straight wins. Maybe, the early money knows something we don’t. In any case, the -208 on Makabu makes him an underlay while Jack is an overlay at +148. Badou gets the nod.
Boxing Pick: Badou Jack
8-Rounds Main Event
- Tommy Fury +135 vs. Jake Paul -165
- Over/Under Total Rounds: O 6.5 -145 vs. U 6.5 +105
- Tommy Fury – 8-0 with 5 KO Wins
The slight underdog in this bout has more boxing experience than Jake Paul. That alone makes Fury a possible play to upset JP and win this bout.
Another reason to like Fury? His footwork is better than Jake’s. Also, he’s got faster hands and has fought real professional boxers.
For sure, nobody Tommy has fought has the power that Jake possesses. But in this fight, Tommy’s experience could outweigh Jake’s power.
Tommy Fury Last 5 Bouts
- W – PTS vs. Daniel Bocianski
- W – UD vs. Anthony Taylor
- W – PTS vs. Jordan Grants
- W – KO R2 vs. Scott Williams
- W – TKO R2 vs. Genadij Krajevskij
Jake Paul – 6-0 with 4 KO Wins
Make no mistake, Jake Paul is not a joke. Paul has something that you can’t teach, power.
Power is the one thing that levels the playing field. With a single punch, Jake can put Tommy on the mat, which means no matter what Fury does, Paul will be in this fight until the end.
If Jake has improved his footwork, jab, and stamina, he should win this bout.

Fury vs. Paul Analysis:
Fury versus Paul is a tough fight to handicap for one, single, reason. We just don’t know how good either of these guys really is. Jake outlasted a strong opponent in Anderson Silva, but Silva was slow and didn’t have the movement he used a decade ago to dominate in the Octagon.
Tommy has fought and beaten professional fighters but a lot of so-called pro fighters wouldn’t stand a chance against an amateur with the right trainer. In other words, Fury has beaten a lot of guys who decided the best way for them to make a living was to step into a boxing ring.
So who has the edge? Jake can land a single punch and knock Tommy out. But Fury is better at finding angles and throwing punches in bunches. So unless Tommy does something stupid, unless Fury doesn’t respect Jake’s power, Tyson’s little brother should do enough for the victory.
Also, if Tommy has half the chin his big bro has, Paul’s power punches won’t have the same affect like they did when JP landed them against Ben Askren and Tyron Woodley.
Tommy Fury hands Jake Paul the first loss of his career in a bout that will go the distance. Fury’s been boxing most of his life. So Tommy should use his speed, better footwork, and underrated chin to win this bout.
Fury vs. Paul To Win Pick: Tommy Fury +135
Fury vs. Paul Total Rounds Pick: Over 6.5
