NASCAR Truck Series Betting for Heart Of America 200 Race Picks

We have something of a strange weekend ahead of us in NASCAR, with just 2 of the 3 series running in Kansas.

This is not the Friday night race that we usually see in the Trucks Series, with this one set to go at 8 PM EST on Saturday. With that in mind, let’s take a look at the current odds for Truck Race.

Sunday NASCAR Favorites
1. Corey Heim285 points
2. Christian Eckes287 points
3. Zane Smith260 points
4. Nicholas Sanchez

My Analysis

It’s not unusual to see the Truck Series skip a week or two on the schedule, but it is the Xfinity Series that will not be racing this weekend. Still, we have a pair of big races to look forward to, but we are going to focus on the trucks for the purposes of this piece and the running of the Heart of America 200. We have a tight battle going on at the top of the driver standings right now, with the top 3 drivers separated by just 12 points, so we may well see some changes at the top depending on how things play out in Kansas.

Corey Heim +360

Last season proved to be a breakout year for Heim, who made it all the way to the Championship Round before coming up a little short in the final race of the season. He figures to be there again this season when you consider that he has not been outside of the top 10 in any of the 7 races this season. He has just 1 win during that run, but he is racking up the points and currently finds himself sitting in 2nd in the driver standings. My guess is that he has a very good chance of keeping his top 10 streak alive this weekend given that he ran in the top 5 in both Kansas races last season. Taking him to win seems like a solid pick, too.

Christian Eckes +380

Eckes won 4 races last season, including the final race of the year, but that last victory ended up meaning little given that he just missed going to the Championship Round. He ended up settling for 5th overall, which was his best showing in the Truck Series, but with 2 wins on the season already, it appears that he means to do better in 2024. Eckes got out to a slow start in the opening 2 races, but he has since won twice and finds himself on top of the driver standings. He did not do well in this race last year, but he won in Kansas in the playoffs.

Zane Smith +610

After winning the Truck Series in 2022, Smith returned for one more full season, finishing 7th overall, before making the jump to the Cup Series. He has had a rough go of things there in his debut season, which is not that unexpected, but he is getting back behind the wheel of a truck this weekend. He has had 3 previous runs in the Truck Series this season, cracking the top 10 in all 3, but failing to win. He finished top 5 in both races in Kansas last season and looks a good bet for more of the same.

Nicholas Sanchez +640

You have to say that 2023 was a successful debut season for Sanchez in the Truck Series, as he ended up finishing 6th overall. Expectations were high coming into this season, and a win in Daytona in the opening race made it seem as though he was going to be tough to beat. Sanchez has not won since then, but he does have 3 more top 5 finishes under his belt. Last season in Kansas, he finished 6th and 8th, respectively, so a top 10 finish here seems likely.

2023 Heart Of America 200 Odds

The NASCAR Truck Series season is a little shorter than the other two series, which is why they have only had 7 races as compared to the 10 runs in the Cup Series. The truck drivers are back in action this weekend with the Heart of America 200, which will be held at the Kansas Speedway. This weekend is a little different in that we have a Cup Series driver dropping in for this race, which always has an impact on the overall NASCAR odds. This might be a weekend when you play some of the regular Truck Series guys to finish in the top 5, or perhaps you might think that one of them can spring the mild upset. Let’s take a look at some of the race favorites.

Kyle Busch

As we mentioned at the top of this piece, we have a Cup Series driver taking part in the Truck Series this weekend. That would be Busch, who comes into this one for his 4th run in the series this season. While he is the clear favorite here, he has been beatable when behind the wheel of a truck. He has 1 win from his 3 runs in the trucks this season, with a 2nd place finish the outcome of the other two. In fact, he has just 2 wins in his last 9 races in the Truck Series, so he is certainly not a slam dunk in this one, regardless of the odds.

Zane Smith

You have to say that Smith has been the most consistent driver in the Truck Series over the last 3 years. He ran 2nd overall in back-to-back years before winning it all in 2022. It looks as though he is determined to hold onto the title, as he is out to a fast start this season and is currently sitting 2nd overall in the driver standings. He already has a pair of wins this year and took the checkered flag in this corresponding race last season. If anyone can topple Busch, it might just be Zane Smith.

Ty Majeski

Majeski made it all the way to the final four last season in his first full year with the Truck Series. It was a fantastic season, and it already looks as though he might be about to have an even better year in 2023. While he is still looking for his first win of the season, he has done enough to get himself to the top of the driver standings, thanks in large part to a run of 4 straight races finishing in the top 5. He had a 2nd place finish in Kansas last season, so definitely a threat.

Ben Rhodes

Rhodes had a breakout season in 2021, winning the Truck Series Championship. He came close again last year, finishing 2nd overall and coming ridiculously close to winning his second straight championship. Rhodes has made a slower start to the season in 2023 and he appears to be long overdue for a win. This might not be the weekend he gets it, though, as he has not had a lot of success on the Kansas Speedway.
