And then there were 3. Hard as it may seem to believe, there are just 3 Truck Series races remaining before we head into the playoffs with the top 10 drivers. Those at or near the top look to be safely into the postseason, but there are a few below the playoff line who are still in with a shot at getting in. While winning always comes first in the mind of any driver, at this stage of the season, points are what really matters, as how a driver finishes in a race can have an impact on the overall standings. On Friday night, the Truck Series will be in Nashville for the Rackley Roofing 200, where those ever-valuable points will be up for grabs. Let’s take a look at some of the NASCAR Truck Series Betting favorites for this one.
NASCAR Truck Series Betting Preview for Rackley Roofing 200 Race
John H. Nemechek (+400)
In terms of wins, Nemechek is sitting off the pace that he set for himself last season. By this stage of the season in 2021, he had racked up 5 wins compared to the 1 that he has managed this season. He was unable to maintain that pace last year, though, as the wins dried up at this stage of the season. Perhaps he is going to do it in reverse this time around and start winning when it really matters. That said, he did not have a great run in Nashville in 2021, finishing 10th in this corresponding race. He did, though, break out of a minor slump with a 2nd place run last time out.
Zane Smith (+500)
Smith has finished 2nd overall in each of his last 2 seasons in the Truck Series, with many believing that this would be the year where he would break through and get that first championship. He certainly started out strong, winning 3 of the first 8 races of the year. While he is now on a run of 5 straight races without a win, he has been solid in the last 2, landing on the podium in each of those runs. That has him sitting 2nd overall once again. He had a decent run in Nashville last year, finishing 4th in that race.
Chandler Smith (+600)
Smith had a bit of a breakthrough season in 2021, finishing 8th overall, but it was what he did in the playoffs, winning 2 races, that had a lot of NASCAR fans thinking that he might be ready to take another big step forward in 2022. He got his first and only win of the season in the 2nd race of the year, and while he has yet to take another checkered flag, he has been consistently solid, finishing in the top 5 in 5 of the next 11 races. He did not have a great run at Nashville last year, but given his current form, I would not count him out.
Ryan Preece (+800)
Preese tends to jump around and race in different places, dropping into NASCAR very sporadically. That experience has him on the radar for the bookies, which is not surprising when you consider that he won 1 of his 2 Truck Series races last year. He has popped into the Truck Series 5 times already this season, and while he is yet to pick up a win, he has consistently been among the leaders. Definitely one to keep an eye on this weekend.
