The playoffs are already underway in the Truck Series, with the Cup Series set to begin their postseason in a couple of weeks.
We still have some time before the Xfinity Series begins their playoffs, with 5 races still to come before we get to the Round of 12.

My NASCAR Xfinity Series Analysis
The first race of those final 5 comes this week in Daytona with the running of the Wawa 250.
This will be the second visit to Daytona for the Xfinity Series drivers this season, but can we look at the earlier race on this track and get a feel for who might win this weekend.
We will certainly look at that as we talk about the current favorites to win the Xfinity Series Wawa 250, which goes this Friday at 7:30 PM EST.
^Austin Hill +250
If you take the overall runs at Daytona, as opposed to just this race, then it’s easy to understand why Hill is in as the favorite to win this weekend.
He has won the opening race in Daytona in each of the last 3 seasons, but he has not had the same level of success in this particular race.
He has failed to even crack the top 10 in this race over the last 2 seasons. This is not particularly surprising when you consider that Hill has made a habit of getting off to a fast start, only to tail off as the season progresses.
That alone makes me nervous about wagering on Hill this weekend.

Jesse Love +650
This is one of those situations where I assume the bookies know a lot more than I do. This is the first full season in the Xfinity Series for Jesse Love, and it has gone about how you would expect.
He has had some very good moments, including a win in Talladega, but there have also been weeks when he has been well off the pace.
Overall, he is currently sitting in 8th in the driver standings and looking likely to be in the playoffs.
He ran 20th in Daytona earlier this season, so not much to like there. If you want to take a risk, I would play him in the top 3.
^AJ Allmendinger +1000
Allmendinger is back in the Xfinity Series on a full-time basis this season, but he is still looking for his first win of the year.
That said, he has done a good job of accumulating points, which has him sitting in 5th place overall in the driver standings.
Earlier this season, Allmendinger finished in the top 10 at Daytona, but if you look back at his previous runs in this particular race, you see back-to-back podium finishes, so I think he is a very good top 3 pick this weekend.
^Justin Allgaier +1000
Besides looking at previous performances on a particular track, I also like to look at the current form for every driver.
Allgaier is on a great run of form right now and is coming off his 2nd win of the season last weekend.
He has now had 6 straight races of finishing in the top 10, which has him now sitting in 2nd overall.
Daytona is a track where Allgaier always seems to be in the hunt, which includes picking up the win in this race last season.
At these odds, I’d definitely tale him for the repeat win.

2023 Wawa 250
It’s going to be another wild weekend in the world of NASCAR, with a pair of different locations in the spotlight. While the Truck Series will be continuing to race in the Round of 10 at the Milwaukee Mile, the Cup and Xfinity Series drivers will be in Daytona for the final week of the regular season. Yes, it all comes down to this, as this is the last chance for those sitting below the playoff cut line to make a move and get into their respective postseasons. For the purposes of this piece, we are going to focus on the Xfinity Series and the Wawa 250, but rest assured that we will have all the other races covered, too. For now, let’s look at the NASCAR betting favorites for the Saturday race.

Austin Hill
NASCAR Xfinity Odds: +440
One driver that doesn’t have to worry about his playoff status is Hill, as he comes into this weekend basically sharing the top spot with John H Nemechek. Still, he will want to close out the regular season with a good showing that will hopefully carry over into the playoff races that are just around the corner. Hill has certainly been solid all season long, winning 4 races to this point and looking very much as though he is going to improve on his 6th place overall finish from last season. This is certainly a track that he enjoys, as Hill has won in 2 of his last 3 runs at Daytona.
Justin Haley
NASCAR Xfinity Odds: +1050
Haley has been plying his trade, albeit rather unsuccessfully, in the Cup Series over the past few seasons, but he is dropping down for this one and has automatically become a driver that the bookies like for this race. When you see a Cup Series driver dropping into one of the other series, they are usually worth a look, but I am not totally sold on Haley in this spot. He has 4aced 4 times in the Xfinity Series this season, with his best finish being a 4th place run in Atlanta. That does not exactly inspire a ton of confidence.
Justin Allgaier
NASCAR Xfinity Odds: +1100
One thing that is never a surprise is seeing Allgaier up among the favorites for every race. This is a driver that has been a model of consistency during his time with the Xfinity Series, and while a championship has eluded him to this point, he is a driver that is always worth taking a look at when it comes time to wager, especially when he is sitting at these rater tasty odds. Can he deliver the goods this weekend. If you are looking at playing him to win, then perhaps not, but he has finished top 5 in 2 of his last 3 on this track, so a top 5 play might not be a bad idea.
Trevor Bayne
NASCAR Xfinity Odds: +1300
This is another guy who has been racing in the Cup Series with very limited success. He is dropping in for this race, but it really is tough to know what to expect, as this is his first race on the Xfinity Series this season. You have to go back to 2014 to find the last time he raced at Daytona as part of the Xfinity Series. He finished 3rd in that one, but is that enough to risk placing a wager on him here?
