Reports out of Los Angeles are stating that Kawhi Leonard won’t make the trip to Phoenix for Game 5. It’s sounding more and more like he won’t play for the rest of the season. Even if the Los Angeles Clippers advances to the NBA Finals, we may not see Leonard play in that series.
Not Quite the Dream Team
USA Basketball announced their 12-man squad that will be headed to Tokyo later this summer to represent the United States. Many big names such as LeBron James, Anthony Davis, Stephen Curry, Jimmy Butler, and Donovan Mitchell declined invites to participate. Even though those names won’t be playing, Team USA will still send a stacked squad to Japan. Bam Adebayo, Bradley Beal, Devin Booker, Kevin Durant, Kevin Love, Draymond Green, Zach Lavine, Jayson Tatum, Damian Lillard, Jrue Holiday, Khris Middleton, and Jerami Grant will all be donning the red, white, and blue. Team USA will be led by Gregg Popovich, who will be assisted by Steve Kerr, Lloyd Pierce, Eric Spoelstra, and Jay Wright.
It’s Draft Time
Now that the NBA has held their annual draft lottery, the rumors will be flying. The Detroit Pistons won the lottery and hold the #1 pick in this year’s draft. Unless something drastic happens, all signs point to the Pistons drafting Cade Cunningham out of Oklahoma State. Cunningham is a versatile guard that is very athletic. Cunningham is drawing comparisons to Jayson Tatum, so if this holds true, the Pistons will be getting a very good player.
