In soccer, the top teams are judged by the amount of silverware that they win in a single season.
For the best teams in the world, winning nothing usually means that a major overhaul happens in the off season, while the teams that do win things try to strengthen their squads in hopes of staying at the top.
My Analysis
Last season was a good one for Real Madrid, as they finished things off by winning LaLiga and the Champions League.
That is a nice haul and is one that fans will be expecting they should repeat this season.
All we are concerned about here is the Champions League, so let’s look at their odds to repeat.
^Champions League Season Sneak Peek
It should be noted that it is always tough to make a serious prediction when there are so many details that we do not yet know.
The transfer window is still wide open in Europe, with Real Madrid still expected to do a lot of business before it closes.
We also don’t know which teams will be playing in the new Champions League format, and perhaps more importantly, which teams will be going head-to-head.
^Kylian Mbappé
In terms of changes, Madrid has already made the biggest splash of the off season, landing Mbappé from PSG.
They have also gone with another young player they expect big things from in Endrick, but he will be a bench player this coming season and might not see a lot of time on the field in the Champions League.
In terms of outgoings, Toni Kroos retired this off season, while goalkeeper Kepa moved on, so you can bet that Madrid will be looking for a replacement between the sticks.
^Madrid Always Qualifies
While the Champions League format will change this season, with groups scrapped in favor of one big league, it would be an absolute stunner if Madrid did not make it out of the league and into the knockout stage of the tournament.
In the last 4 seasons, they have at least made it to the semi-finals, so they are always a good bet to make a deep run.
That said, as the defending champions, they are going to have a massive target on their back heading into this season’s tournament.
^Champions League Betting Prediction
As it stands at the moment, the bookies certainly seem to think that the Spanish giants are once again going to be in the mix.
While it is Manchester City who are in as the favorite to win it all this season, Real Madrid are right on their heels in terms of odds.
They are currently at +296 to win the Champions League, which is likely to be the best odds you are going to get on a team that always seems to be in the final four.
Again, we are going to be keeping an eye on the Preliminary Round to see which teams make it into the league stage of the tournament.
Once we know that, we will quickly find out the matchups, which will give us a better idea of whether Real Madrid’s odds to win the Champions League represent good value.

Champions League Real Madrid Odds to Win & Odds Analysis
- Real Madrid +600
The Champions League final four teams include a couple from the Premier League and two LaLiga Primera Division teams. The two EPL squads, Man City and Liverpool, are at +125 to win the CL.
Villareal is at +1900, making Villareal the longest shot on the board, and Real Madrid offers third choice odds at +600.
At the odds, Real is more than playable. RM knocked out Chelsea in the quarterfinals, proving they can hang with the best in the Premier.
Real may not be as good as the Sky Blues or Reds, but the odds make them an attractive option.
Why Real Madrid will win the 2022 UEFA Champions League title
Shortly after last season’s Champions League Semifinals loss, Zinedine Zidane resigned. Before the ink was dry on Zidane’s resignation letter, Real had rehired the great Carlo Ancelotti.
So far, Ancelotti has come through in a big way. With just a few weeks left in the LaLiga season, Real has a 15 point lead over rival Barcelona for the league title.
Real can also win the Champions League, which means like Liverpool and Man City, RM has a chance to pull a league title and CL title double. Ancelotti has his squad believing they can beat anybody on the planet. That makes Real a serious contender to win the trophy.
Why Real Madrid won’t win the 2022 UEFA Champions League title
Real is a good team, no doubt, but the LaLiga squad faces arguably the best club team in the world in the Champions League Semifinals.
As if trying to beat Manchester City wasn’t enough, Real is likely to face Liverpool in the CL Championship. So the Primera Division leaders must beat the two best teams from the EPL to win this year’s Champions League.
Ancelotti has one of the greatest soccer minds in history. But it’s asking a lot that he comes up with a strategy for Real to have success versus both the Citizens and Pool.
Real Madrid Prediction – Ancelotti’s bunch upsets Man City but falls to Liverpool in the final
Real Madrid may be catching Manchester City at the right time. After having to face Liverpool twice in the last couple of weeks, the Sky Blues are banged up.
The first match happens at Etihad Stadium. If Real can manage a 1-goal loss and score an away goal, or play to a draw, things will beautifully set up for an upset aggregate victory over the Sky Blues in the second match.
Give Real the nod to get past Man City. But then, in the championship, it’s going to be difficult, maybe impossible, to upset Liverpool.
The Reds are on fire. So at the end, Real makes it further in the CL this season than last season but once again LaLiga’s best comes up short.
