Tuesday, April 9 at 8:45 pm ET
Estadio Universitario, San Nicolas de los Garza, Mexico
Neither squad is in great form. Road team Columbus has drawn in 3 straight versus Nashville, Tigres in the first leg, and D.C. United. Before the draws, Columbus had lost to Charlotte FC.
Tigres UANL had won 3 straight before their last 2, the draw versus Columbus and a loss to Pachuca. The loss to Pachuca is worrisome if you’re a Tigres fan. Pachuca faced UANL on their grass and managed to blast Tigres back to the zoo in a 3-0 victory. Columbus may not win, but a draw is possible.

America vs New England Revolution – Leg 2
Football Odds:America +180 / NE Revolution +100000
Tuesday, April 9 at 10:30 pm ET
Azteca City, Mexico City, Mexico
America absolutely blasted New England 4-0 in the first leg. The 4-0 whipping is the reason the Revolution are the longest shot on the board to win the CONCACAF Champions Cup. It’s virtually impossible for New England to make up a 4-0 goal deficit versus the Champions Cup chalk to win the title.
As far as this game is concerned, America is likely to rest their starters. There’s no reason to go full force versus a Revolution team that may do more sightseeing than playing quality soccer while they’re in Mexico. Even if they rest half of their starters, America can beat New England. Back the home team once odds land.

Football Odds: Pachuca +325 / Herediano +80000
Wednesday, April 10 at 8:15 pm ET
Estadio Hidalgo, Pachuca, Mexico
Costa Rican squad Herediano is struggling in their league. CR teams are decent. But Herediano should be better then their recent form, losing 3 and drawing twice in their last 5. The worst loss, which makes sense, was to Pachuca in the first leg of this Champions Cup matchup.
Pachuca dominated Herediano 5-0. On Wednesday evening, Pachuca is likely to put another beating onto Herediano. Expect at least a 3 goals victory. Lay it if oddsmakers set a spread line.

Monterrey vs Inter Miami CF – Leg 2
Football Odds: Monterrey +350 / Inter Miami CF +475
Wednesday, April 10 at 10:30 pm ET
Estadio BBVA, Guadalupe, Mexico
Inter lost the first match 2-1. The score implies Inter has a real shot of upsetting Monterrey on their grass. Another reason to like Miami?
Messi returned to the pitch in the 2-2 draw versus Colorado. For sure, Inter M should beat a team like the Rapids, which are decent but don’t have a roster close to Miami’s. So the draw disappointed.
But it was Messi’s first game back after an injury. Lionel should be sharper on Wednesday night. Expect Miami to pick it up and force an aggregate draw with a at least a 1-goal victory.

Football Odds: NA
Tuesday, April 2nd at 7:00 pm ET
Lower.com Field, Columbus, Ohio
The crew has a big edge because this happens on their pitch. But Columbus isn’t in great form, following up a 2-0 loss to Charlotte on March 23 with a 2-2 draw against Nashville on March 30.
By contrast, Tigres UANL is dominating opponents. The road team in this is on a 3-match winning streak: 3-1 versus Orlando City, 5-1 against Mazatlan, and 3-2 in an impressive road win against Pueblo.
When odds land, Tigres UANL should be the slight underdog. Right now, no matter the odds, the road team is the pick. Tigres has always performed well in international tournaments. Based on recent form, Tigre UANL should score the victory on Tuesday.

Here’s another matchup where the Major League Soccer club is underperforming. Home side New England has a single victory in their last 5 and it came versus Alajuelense in a Champions Cup match. Losses to Atlanta United and FC Cincinnati and draws versus Alajuelense and Chicago Fire happened in the Revolution’s other four games.
America has won 3-of-5 with a draw and a loss. Although New England has the massive edge because America must travel way north to take on the Revolution, we can’t go against America. However, backing the road team is also tough. The draw entices.

Monterrey versus Inter Miami should be an excellent matchup. Messi isn’t likely to play because the Great One is nursing an injury. Still, Inter Miami will be tough at home.
Luis Suarez has scored 2 goals in 2 matches. Suarez is showing the dominant form he displayed in his best days as Uruguay’s top player. If Suarez shows up, Monterrey, which had won 4 straight before falling to Guadalajara in their last, will be in some trouble. The loss to Guadalajara is a sign the road team’s form is headed south.

Both teams show suspect form Pachuca has lost 3-of-4 with a win. Herediano has lost 2 straight after drawing with Robinhood on March 13.
Neither team is playing well enough to attract betting dollars. If you wish to take a stab on the Costa Rican home team, go for it. But, betting wise, the best play in this matchup appears to be the draw.

2022 CONCACAF CL Betting Analysis for Quarterfinal Matches
Previous Betting News
CONCACAF Champions League returned with a bang last month, as the 16 teams in the competition got things started. Of the eight teams that advanced, four are from MLS, three are from Liga MX in Mexico, and there is one team left from Liga Nacional in Guatemala.
Oddly enough, none of the MLS teams are paired up to face one another, which should make things interesting when the first legs of the quarterfinals are played on March 8 and 9. Let’s take a closer look at the four quarterfinal matchups in the CONCACAF CL so you can make your bets against the CONCACAF Champions League odds.
CONCACAF Champions League Quarter Final Round Analysis
Seattle Sounders vs Leon
The Sounders have high hopes for this competition, although they’ve been a little unconvincing early in the season. They settled for a scoreless draw in the first leg of the Round of 16 against what should have been an overmatched Motagua. Of course, Seattle won the second leg 5-0, getting five goals from five different players.
However, the Sounders turned around and lost their MLS opener, so they’ve been a little slow out of the gate. Seattle has to hope that getting the first round against Leon can help them get off on the right foot.
In fairness, Leon hasn’t exactly jumped out to the top of the Liga MX standings early in the season. Nobody but Victor Davila has been able to find the back of the net during the first part of the season.
On the bright side, Leon has been tough to break down defensively, so perhaps they can keep the Sounders contained and force a couple of low-scoring matches that will give them a chance to advance.
New York City FC vs Comunicaciones
The reigning MLS champs had no problem with Costa Rican side Santos in the first leg, and Comunicaciones gives them another favorable matchup in the quarterfinals.
However, the Pigeons have done a lot of traveling during the early part of the season, so it’s fair to wonder if they could get a little tired, especially with two road games on the West Coast early in the MLS season.
Plus, NYCFC can’t overlook Comunicaciones after the Guatemalan side knocked off the Colorado Rapids in the last round. Los Cremas was able to get a 1-0 win at home and ultimately force a penalty shoot-out against the Rapids. That win should give them a huge confidence boost heading into the quarterfinals, even against the MLS champs.
New England Revolution vs Pumas UNAM
After failing to win MLS Cup last season, the Revs can perhaps make up for it by winning the Champions League. In some ways, New England has added talent since last season, bringing in Sebastian Lletget and Cozy Altidore. But they also lost Talon Buchanan, so they are still trying to figure out how the pieces fit together.
On the other side, UNAM has been one of the best defensive teams in Liga MX early in the season. The Cougars haven’t quite put things together on the attacking end, settling for draws in domestic action recently. But they surely won’t be intimidated by New England’s attack.
Cruz Azul vs CF Montreal
Cruz Azul is arguably the favorite to win the Champions League at this point. Despite taking a couple of losses early in the Liga MX season, La Maquina has the pieces to make a run. The Mexican side also bested a Canadian side in the last round and shouldn’t be too bothered by the trip to Montreal in mid-March.
It’s not as if Montreal was overly convincing in the last round, losing the first leg to Santos Laguna before winning the second leg 3-0. Montreal also faltered in the squad’s MLS opener and will need to step it up to get past Cruz Azul.

Violette vs. Club Leon
Where: Estadio Cibao, Santiagos, Dominican Republic
When: Tuesday, April 11, 2023
The Haitian champs made enough sensations this year, and it appears that their fantastic adventure is over. Club Leon was victorious in the first leg, beating the rivals 5-0, so the rematch is a formality.
Both of these units like to play open and offensive-minded football. Violette will go after a win at home, that’s for sure, while on the other side, the Mexicans won’t play with their best lineup, preserving the top players for later challenges.
That should increase the chances of a high-scoring affair. Violette should be able to net at least once, and Leon is very gifted when it comes to scoring, therefore, plenty of goals on both ends is something expected in Haiti.

LAFC vs. Vancouver Whitecaps
Where: Banc of California Stadium, LA
When: Tuesday, April 11, 2023
An MLS matchup in the CONCACAF Champions League quarterfinals saw one side dominating the other during the opening 90 minutes. The MLS champs, LAFC, rolled over the Whitecaps in Canada, 0-3, sending a strong message to all the other rivals in the competition.
The hosts are slowly reaching their desired form. LAFC didn’t start the season as furious as some expected, but with time passing, they are getting better and better. FC has just one loss in the last nine events, while at home, the black and gold have four wins in five contests.
Vancouver is struggling to find a proper formula and start winning. Their results are mixed, and the Canadians are still creating chemistry, so nobody expects them to do anything noticeable in LA.

We won’t take too much of your time here. Philly won the first leg, 1-0, after 90 minutes of a violent and tough battle. We saw a red card, a late penalty, and lots of professional fouls on the pitch.
There is no reason to see anything different in Mexico, and given the fact that both teams play defensive-minded and inefficient football, nobody expects to see more than a couple of goals in this one.

The Mexicans survived the first leg in Honduras and, furthermore, won that clash 1-0. It wasn’t a pleasant event to watch, but the Tigers overcame all the adversities and returned home with an extremely positive score.
They have been terrible in Liga MX in recent times, but it appears that Marco Antonio "Chima" Ruiz decided to put all the energy into the Champions League and go after the title while sacrificing other competitions.
They shouldn’t lose at home against Motagua, with frenetic fans supporting them throughout all 90 minutes.

Cruz Azul at CF Montreal Odds, Analysis and Pick
When: Wednesday, March 16 at 8:00 pm ET
Where: Stade Olympique, Montreal, Canada
Handicap Odds: Cruz Azul +½ -188 / CF Montreal -½ +140
ML Odds: Cruz Azul +175 / CF Montreal +146 / Draw +230
Over/Under: O 2 ½ -117 / U 2 ½ -116
Cruz Azul leads 1-0 on the aggregate, which makes this a must victory for CF Montreal. The MLS squad doesn’t show very good form, though.
Montreal has lost 4-of-5. Since beating Santos 3-0 in a CONCACAF Champions League match on Feb. 23, the slight home chalk has fallen to Orlando City 2-0, lost to Philadelphia Union 1-2, dropped the first leg to Cruz Azul 1-0, and lost to New York City FC 4-1.
While CF Montreal has struggled, Cruz Azul has rolled in their last couple. Not only did the road dog beat Montreal 1-0, but they also took down rival Pumas UNAM 2-1 on March 12.
Montreal has a home field edge. But Cruz Azul is in much better form. The dog is worth a look.
CONCACAF CL Pick: Cruz Azul
New England Revolution vs Pumas UNAM Odds, Analysis and Pick
When: Wednesday, March 16 at 10:15 pm ET
Where: Estadio Olimpico Universitario, Mexico City, Mexico
Handicap Odds: New England +½ -101 / Pumas UNAM -½ -131
ML Odds: New England +320 / Pumas -128 / Draw +270
Over/Under: O 2 ½ -158 / U 2 ½ +114
Pumas UNAM must play one of their best matches of the season to have any shot of overtaking New England Revolution and moving to the semifinals. The Revolution blasted Pumas 3-0 in the first leg, which means Pumas, who followed up the loss by dropping another game to Cruz Azul, must make up 3 goals.
That won’t be easy. But before dropping Pumas and going with New England, realize that the Revolution followed up the win over Pumas with a loss to Real Salt Lake.
New England isn’t in great form. Still, beating a team by 3 goals is close to impossible. Pumas UNAM should win this, though.
They figure to come close to taking the aggregate, but it won’t be enough. Pumas gets the straight up victory in the second leg while New England Revolution moves to the semis by winning the aggregate.

When: Tuesday, March 15 at 8:00 pm ET
Where: Estadio Nacional Mateo Flores, Guatemala City, Guatemala
Handicap Odds: New York City FC -½ -105 / Comunicaciones +½ -125
Moneyline Odds: New York City FC -102 / Comunicaciones +270 / Draw +240
Total Odds: O 2 ½ -133 / U 2½ -104
Why New York City FC will beat Comunicaciones
New York City’s form had been less than stellar. On Feb. 27, NYCFC fell by a goal, 1-0, to rival LA Galaxy. Then on March 5, New York City drew 0-0 with the Vancouver Whitecaps.
But since the draw, NYCFC shows the 3-1 win over Comunicaciones and a 4-1 victory against CF Montreal. Now playing their best soccer, New York should have no trouble closing the door on their Guatemalan City rivals with at least a 1-0 victory.
Why Comunicaciones will beat New York City FC
Comunicaciones tied the first leg 1-1. But then, the top team in the Guatemalan League fell apart. City scored a quick 2 goals to make the game 3-1. After that New York City FC cruised to a 3-1 victory. Comunicaciones is aware of the mistakes they made in the first match. So they should be more than ready to take down NYCFC on Tuesday night.
Final Betting Analysis: Comunicaciones vs New York City FC
If New York City FC had won the first match by a 2-1 score, Comunicaciones would have a shot to win this on the aggregate. But with a 3-1 score, the home team will find it difficult to secure a victory.
Comunicaciones is a good team, though. They can also be ultra-aggressive. Usually, aggressiveness in soccer can lead to big time wins.
In this case, it should lead to a big time loss. Comunicaciones’ aggressiveness in the first leg is how they were able to tie the match. By continuing to be aggressive, the defense fell apart and New York City FC countered with a couple of quick scores.
The home team has no shot to move to the semifinals if they don’t beat NYFC by at least 2 goals. Laying it all on the line will backfire. New York City FC gets the victory.
CONCACAF Champions League Pick: New York City FC

Comunicaciones vs New York City FC
When: Tuesday, March 8 at 8:00 pm ET

ML Odds: Comunicaciones +1200 / New York City FC -475 / Draw +500
Over/Under: O 2 ½ -156 / U 2 ½ +113
The Guatemelan League isn’t one of the best in the Western Hemisphere, but Comunicaciones outworked the Colorado Rapids in a couple of matches to secure their quarterfinals spot. Comunicaciones has won 3-of-5 with a draw and a loss.
The loss was a 1-goal match to Colorado. New York City FC has also won 3-of-5 with a loss and a draw. But NYCFC’s loss and draw have happened in their last couple of matches.
No doubt, New York City FC should win this, but giving a quality team like Comunicaciones a goal and a half at above even money makes for a bad bet. At +1 ½ and +115, the Comunicaciones handicap is the play.
Soccer Pick: Comunicaciones
Club Leon vs Seattle Sounders FC
When: Tuesday, March 8 at 10:00 pm ET
Where: Lumen Field, Seattle, WA
Handicap Odds: Club Leon +½ -208 / Seattle Sounders -½ +155
ML Odds: Club Leon +185 / Seattle Sounders +165
Over/Under: O 2 ½ +140 / U 2 ½ -196
This match happens in Seattle, which is one of the reasons the Sounders are a slight moneyline chalk. After handicapping the match, that’s the only reason Seattle is the favorite.
The Sounders aren’t playing well. Seattle has lost 3-of-5 with a win and a draw. 2-of-3 losses happened in Seattle’s last couple of matches.
Both games ended 1-0. Nashville beat the Sounders on Feb. 27. Real Salt Lake beat Seattle 1-0 on March 5. The win did impress, a 5-0 victory CD Motagua, but Leon plays in a much deeper league than Motagua.
Motagua throws down in the Honduran League. Leon is in fourth place in the Mexican Liga. Leon is on fire. They’ve won 4-of-5 with a draw against Monterrey.
The odds make Leon an overlay. Seattle has home pitch advantage, but the Sounders aren’t better than Leon. Also, Seattle has struggled in their last couple of matches.
The Sounders could surprise, but at +165 they’re a bad play. The Mexican Liga is as deep, if not deeper, than MLS. Leon is one of the best teams in the Mexican League. The road squad can win this in regulation.
Soccer Pick: Leon

CONCACAF CL Betting Analysis for the 2nd Leg Matches on Thursday
Previous Betting News
The last two spots in the CONCACAF Champions League are very much up for grabs heading into Thursday. The four teams in action on Thursday played the first leg last week and combined for just one goal. While those matches may have lacked excitement, they set up a compelling second leg in both matchups with everything on the line. Let’s take a closer look at the two Round of 16 second-leg matches on Thursday so you can bet against their CONCACAF Champions League odds.
Round of 16: 2nd Leg Thursday Matches Analysis | Soccer Betting Picks
Cruz Azul vs Forge FC
Cruz Azul is surely one of the clubs that feel like the trophy is theirs for the taking, although the Mexican side hasn’t won CONCACAF Champions League since 2014. That being said, La Máquina was a little underwhelming in the first leg against Force FC. Cruz Azul had 58% of the possession but wasn’t only able to turn that into two shots on goal. Venezuelan international Rómulo Otero was able to put one of those shots in the back of the net to give Azul a 1-0 win. But the performance left something to be desired. On the other hand, a 4-1 win against Toluca over the weekend should have La Máquina feeling better, especially since they’ll be protecting a 1-0 aggregate lead at home in Estadio Azteca.
Meanwhile, Forge FC is still in preseason mode, so they might consider themselves lucky to be only trailing 1-0 on aggregate heading into the second leg. Of course, they needed a better result at home to give them hope heading into an away match in the second leg. While the Hammers are the reigning winners of the Canadian Premier League, there is a clear talent gap between them and a CONCACAF giant like Cruz Azul. The Hamilton-based club will be happy just to get to this stage, although with the aggregate at 1-0, they will feel as if there is hope if they can avoid conceding an early goal.
Seattle Sounders FC vs CD Motagua
Opportunity appears to be knocking for the Sounders, who haven’t made a deep Champions League run in several years. In theory, Seattle has a favorable draw with Motagua, although the Sounders didn’t look particularly sharp in a scoreless draw against the Honduran club last week. Even with regulars like Cristian Roldan, Raul Ruidiaz, and Jordan Morris getting the start, the Sounders only generated one shot on goal. Even for an MLS team that’s still going through its preseason training, it was a disappointing effort for the Sounders, who don’t want to crash out of the competition this early before they can hit their stride.
Of course, Motagua hasn’t exactly hit the ground running in its first six games in the Honduran Primera Division. They have settled for three draws in those six matches, scoring just five goals during that stretch. Talent-wise, they shouldn’t be able to keep pace with Seattle, especially since they have to head to the Pacific Northwest for the second leg. But they looked like the better team for long stretches of the first leg. The longer they can keep the second leg scoreless, the better Motagua’s chances of pulling off the surprise upset over the Sounders.

2022 CONCACAF CL Betting Analysis for Revolution vs Pumas and Cruz Azul vs Montreal
Previous Betting News
The quarterfinals of the CONCACAF Champions League got underway with two matches on Tuesday and will continue with two more matches on Wednesday. Keep in mind that Wednesday’s games are just the first leg of a two-match series. But a strong performance in the first leg can make things much easier in the second leg. Let’s take a closer look at the two matches on tap on Wednesday night so you can place your bets against CONCACAF Champions League odds.
CONCACAF Champions League Quarter Final Matches to Bet On March 9th
New England Revolution vs Pumas UNAM
The Revolution is still probably a little disappointed at not winning MLS Cup last season, but capturing a Champions League trophy could make up for it. However, New England’s first two games of the new MLS season have been rather underwhelming despite bringing in Jozy Altidore and Sebastian Lletget this offseason to reinforce an already strong side. Also, keep in mind the Revs only played one match in the previous round of the Champions League, so they’ve yet to be properly challenged and haven’t been forced to be at the top of their game. That could cause problems for them on Wednesday night, even if they’ll be at home.
As for UNAM, the Mexican side had some trouble playing on the road in the last round against Costa Rican side Saprissa before winning 4-1 in convincing fashion at home in the second leg. They also find themselves in the middle of the Liga MX table with 11 points from eight matches, so the Cougars aren’t exactly clicking on all cylinders right now either. Last weekend’s Liga MX game had to be postponed, which means the Cougars will be well-rested for a midweek road trip to New England. However, UNAM has just one win in its last five matches, and the one win was against Saprissa in the Champions League, so their form has to quickly improve against a much more formidable CONCACAF opponent.
Cruz Azul vs CF Montreal
Cruz Azul will have the honors of hosting the first leg on Wednesday against Montreal. The Machine knocked a Canadian team out of the last round, beating Forge FC 4-1 in aggregate over two legs. However, that was against a team from the Canadian Premier League, not an MLS franchise. Also, since the win over Forge FC in the second leg, Cruz Azul has suffered two losses and a draw in Liga MX action. With 15 goals in nine domestic matches this season, the Cruz Azul attack is in good shape. But they’ve also conceded 12 times, which is something they’ll have to improve, especially if they want to get a result at home.
As for Montreal, they lost the first leg to a Mexican team in the last round but were able to rebound in the second leg. However, Cruz Azul is surely a step up in competition compared to Santos. CFM has also lost its first two MLS matches of the season, so the team’s confidence may not be particularly high right now. In those two matches, they’ve scored just once and conceded four goals. In other words, Montreal needs to show drastic improvement or risk losing the first leg to Cruz Azul, perhaps by multiple goals.

Atlanta United won their first couple of CONCACAF Champions League matches of the year. ATL FC beat Alajuelense by a 1-0 score on April 6. A week later, Atlanta U beat Alajuelense 1-0 on April 13.
Philadelphia Union beat Saprissa 1-0 and 4-0 in their two CONCACAF CL matches. But Philly Union has struggled so far in MLS, drawing with Columbus and losing 1-2 against Inter Miami. Still, the odds make the home team an overlay. So consider backing Philadelphia.
Soccer Pick: Philadelphia Union
Cruz Azul -121 / Toronto FC +307
Cruz Azul has 3 wins and 2 draws in their last 5 matches. The favored home squad is in first place in the Mexican Liga Primera Division. They’ve got 5 points over America. To understand how good Mexican League teams are, don’t forget that earlier in the year Tigres UANL fell to Bayern in the World CL Finals by a goal. Tigres has 22 points to Cruz Azul’s 40.
Toronto has a win, 2 losses, and 2 draws in their last 5. It doesn’t appear the road underdogs have much of a shot in this. -121 odds on Azul are more than fair.
Soccer Pick: Cruz Azul
Wednesday, April 28th Matches
Monterrey +127 / Columbus Crew SC +186
Because Monterrey hosts Columbus, they’re getting the benefit of the doubt. The home team, though, didn’t play their best soccer last week. Monterrey lost all three matches, losing 0-1 to Pachuca, falling 1-2 versus Guadalajara, and dropping a match 2-1 against Tigres UANL.
Columbus offers decent odds. The 2020 Major League Soccer Champions drew with Philadelphia Union in their last. Before the draw with Philly Union, Columbus blasted Real Esteli 4-0 and 1-0 in a couple of CL matches. Columbus looks like a strong underdog.
Soccer Pick: Columbus Crew
America +117 / Portland Timbers +213
Portland has won 2-of-3, including beating Marathon 5-0 in a CONCACAF Champions League match on April 13. On April 24, the Timbers beat Houston Dynamo 2-1.
America is one of the better squads in the Mexican Liga Primer Division. But the home team has a couple of losses and a draw in their last three. America’s form may provide fuel for a Portland upset.
Soccer Pick: Portland Timbers
