2022 UEFA Soccer Summer Transfer Window

  • When: June 10 – September 1

Bayern and Barca at an impasse over Lewandowski transfer

Lewandowski no longer wants to play for Bayern, but Munich has turned down Barcelona’s offer of 40 million euros plus add-ons.

The Bundesliga power is looking for 75 million to transfer Lewandowski. If this were five years ago, demanding 75 million euros for Lewy would make sense.

But Lewandowski is 33. Darwin Nunez, who Liverpool transferred from Benfica for 75 mil, is 23. Robert’s age is the reason Barcelona is holding out for a smaller fee.

Barca believes 50 million might be enough for Lewandowski. But in the past couple of weeks another team has thrown their hat into the Lewy ring.

Blues may make a run for Lewandowski

Chelsea is going through a transition. But that doesn’t mean the Blues won’t make a run for a name player.

What’s a better way to build loyalty than transferring a star striker? Not only that, but Todd Boehly has shown he is willing to spend big bucks to build a competitive sports franchise.

Boehly, Chelsea’s new owner, is part owner of the Los Angeles Dodgers and Los Angeles Lakers. Boehly will spend to win and coach Thomas Tuchel wants Lewy.

If Lewandowski doesn’t end up at Stamford Bridge, Raheem Stirling, the Man City striker, or Paris Saint-Germain’s Neymar could.

Boehly didn’t purchase Chelsea to finish third behind Manchester City and Liverpool in the Premier League for the next five seasons. Building a winner is Boehly’s top priority so talent should end up playing for the Blues.

Gabriel Jesus likely to move to Arsenal

Manchester City made it known that they’re good with Jesus, the Brazilian striker, moving to Arsenal. City transferred Haaland knowing that both Sterling and Jesus would look for new homes.

The Sky Blues gave Raheem their blessing to transfer to Chelsea. Now, Man City has given their blessing to Jesus to transfer to the Gunners.

The fact City is allowing a couple of their top 2021 players to put on kits with Premier League rivals tells us how confident Pep and the Sky Blues are heading into this season.

Training for the upcoming soccer season starts on July 12. No doubt, Manchester City will enter the 2022-2023 Premier League and Champions League seasons the team to beat.

Man United is losing during the transfer window

New Man United coach Erik ten Hag turned Ajax into the Dutch Eredivisie’s top club. It could take him much longer to turn around Manchester United.

The Red Devils have seen five players: Paul Pogba, Juan Mata, Edinson Cavani, Jesse Lingard, and Nemanja Matic transfer. United hasn’t replaced any of those players.

The only rumor regarding Man U is that the Red Devils will make a play for Barcelona midfielder Frenkie de Jong. For now, though, it’s just a rumor, which means United has done nothing, zero, since the transfer window opened.

City is transferring players at a breakneck pace, Liverpool made a big move to acquire Nunez, and once Boehly settles in at Chelsea, the Blues will transfer some players for sure.

So where does that leave ten Hag and Manchester United? Nowhere good. If the Red Devils do nothing this transfer window, expect their fans to picket on opening day.

United fans have grown impatient. So Manchester had better start acting like they want to beat the Citizens, the Londoners, and the Reds or their fervent fan base might ditch the mediocre club.
